For her it was a case of being at the right place at the right time. She use to do random segments on the local news in her area. Her segments were so popular the network gave her her own show.

It was a niche that wasn't filled at the time, and it exploded in popularity.

and as the op stated, she was basically Mr Beast before Mr Beast.

I've seen the name quite a few times now, and I still have no idea who tf "Mr Beast" is.

Who knows, like others said - probably a lot of luck and "right time at the right place" + capturing the NPC middle aged woman/bored housewife/whatever audience. I remember in the early 2000s seeing my mom sometimes have that on TV, and holy shyt Oprah was insufferable back then, and I imagine has probably only gotten worse.. I don't remember if she was that bad in the 90s.

He's a "youtuber" that caters to the younger crowd (8-15 year olds). He just does unboxings and harmless pranks and science experiments. His channel blew the phuck up and he's literally worth a billion dollars, and now he does a lot of humanitarian work like planting trees and even paid for the surgery of 1000 people to repair their blindness.

MrBeast, hes a mid 20s youtuber. He has, i think, the most subs of any youtuber in the world, or close to it. His videos are basically him creating dumb games and giving the winner an expensive car, or a house, or 100,000 cash, etc.
