Is there too much rep system abuse/continuous negging here??

There's too much rep abuse and continuous negging around here, me thinks.


It seems like rep power doesn't indicate a good poster, but rather who's a part of the popular clique or willing to do silly rep trading or begging. It's pretty childish to just continuously neg someone over and over because they've got some opposing opinion. Ain't it against the rules?



Yeah, I get complaining about negs just nets more negs, but I don't care.

Yeah, you cry about negs, you get negs. I get it. I'm expecting them.

Just thought I'd draw attention to the problem of continuous negging. It seems like there's too many people who neg others for no reason at all other than they have a different viewpoint. Is that what the rep system is for? I thought negs were meant to be for trolls or bad posts.

If anything, reps are way overflated these days in general. It's not hard to understand why, either. It's because we have *maybe* a third of the number of actually active users (people who actually log in once every week or two and post a bit, or more), so reps get spread out in a much less dispersed way now.

Between that an rep trading, the endless wincel accounts often actually get a few k into the green (he obviously has a task force like process for the whole thing at this point), and it's also why we have so many miscers either fliritng with or over the 1 million reps mark already. Back in 2018, the only regular non-mod miscer who came anywhere even sniffing those rep numbers was boddydoucheitaloa, and that man had been dedicating 90% of his existence to the misc and rep trading for like 4 years by then. I still laugh at thinking of what a complete meltdown that loser must have had when they reset his (which he deserved when literally at least half of his reps were from his mod brothers KenKlown and Bozz).
