BREAKING: Tucker Carlson Relaunching His Show on Twitter, Walking Away From Millions

Puck News’s Dylan Byers reported on Tuesday that fired Fox News host Tucker Carlson will “relaunch” his show on Twitter “with help from former Fox News staff.”

Speculation has run rampant since Carlson was fired from his top-rated show two weeks ago as to his next move and many pundits and observers have recently noted his relationship with Twitter owner Elon Musk may be a tell.

Carlson released a video to Twitter on Tuesday, saying, “We’re back.” The clip, which accuses the media of telling lies, did not offer any additional information as to his next move, but he did declare Twitter is one of the only “free speech” platforms in the world.

I think the difference is between acting like you are being neutral or unbiased and then being so over the top biased and one-sided that it is undeniable, but you still deny it, versus saying "this is my opinion and this is why I think it is correct..." Tucker Carlson seems to fall more on the second option. I have some issues with his narrative, but it is obviously, to me, better than the rest of Fox, MSNBC, and CNN.

He's a talented presenter and entertainer, and if he more or less sticks to transparently giving his opinion then there's no problem IMO. We can't deny there are plenty of people who will take his word as fact no matter what, but that's not really his problem.

I agree that he is a talented presenter. I always enjoyed watching on youtube the clip of his main segment (often the intro), the next day. That was his real home run often, because that is where he would present something and it bring about agreement or outrage in the social and political sphere and across the culture. I can't remember how many times the next day at work or the days I was at my school that I would here someone on the phone, or a group of people, young, old, all race and ethnicity included, workers, students, teachers, etc., talking about Carlson. "Did you hear what Tucker said last night?" "Tucker was at it again!" and similar statements. He was really in the minds of people, in my experience. I think he was so popular, as liked or hated, because he was a straight shooter for the most part with his opinions. I also do agree that a lot of people will just agree with him because it is "Tucker" but I personally agree with him on a lot of issues, and disagree on others. The part of just agreeing with him because they think they are supposed to, well, I think that applies to a lot of people and programs/public figures and it is sad but that is the hyper-tribalism of our contemporary America.

I imagine with ad revenue he will probably do pretty well on social media. Conventional news/media has been in a death spiral anyway, so this is just the natural evolution of things. There are Youtubers who get 10X the views of CNN, but somehow they're "irrelevant". Okay.
