Travel Advice for CDMX? WhoreMAXXers and Cartels STAY OUT!
I plan on going to Ciudad de Mexico for 10 days (two weekends) end of May.
I know some Spanish and will be solo traveling and working remotely on the weekdays in between.
Other than avoiding the cartels and going to museums during the day, I want to enjoy the finest Mexican pussy and cuisine the city has to offer.
Any Miscers have advice on enjoying what CDMX has to offer?
Favorite places you went to or food you had?

Have been twice but only for a few days each time.
The first was in like 2018 and then again a couple of months ago. It is SO much more gringo/expensive compared to the first time. I guess everyone went there since covid and jacked all the prices up.
The first time I went, I would say it felt like everything cost 1/4th the price of what I’m used to paying here in US, now it feels like 1/2 the price and up. It’s still cheaper than US, but last time it felt like I was balling.
Fun things I did-
- Luchador wrestling match
-soccer game
- Xochimilco boat rides - really fun in a group but in a really bad area of the city so be carful
Great restaurants/ things to eat
Lalo!
Churros il Moro (make sure you ask for fresh out of the fryer)
Siembra taqueria
Rosetta and Rosetta bakery
Taqueria Orinoco
Lardo
Jennis street quesadillas
There’s so much good food you can’t really go wrong.
You can also try basically any street taco and they will be delicious.
I don’t really remember the names of good bars but that’s easy to figure out when you’re there.
You can try pulque, but it’s disgusting.
Really try to stick to bottled water and no ice. I’ve been all over South America a I usually don’t get sick traveling but when I got home I was pissing out my ass for like 3 days straight.
I thought the pyramids were boring unless you’re willing to to super early and do the hot air balloon version.
If you can do a a day or two at Las Grutas Tolantongo. It’s a hot springs resort a few hours outside cdmx. With ten days, I would carve out some time. I haven’t been but it looks really dope.
In terms of getting girls. There’s a lot of tourists in the nicer areas like polanco, la condesa, and parts of Roma. You hear more English than Spanish tbh.
Mexican girls are usually pretty easy in my experience. Especially off of dating apps. Usually a done deal if they come meet up with you
