I mean, pollution is bad. But it's the communist countries that are the absolute worst polluters.. especially china. They just dump chit into the ocean. I trust the private sector far more to solve problems through innovation incentivized through profit than a government to regulate problems away. Government is formed by a bunch of corrupt and incompetent morons. always has been, always will be.

Not just pollution. He mentions how there isn't enough stuff. Basically, if everyone tried to live like an American, we'd run out of resources. China may be the worst in absolute terms, but per capita the US is worse.

It's super inefficient to the point it is too expensive.

Some of life exists beyond profit maximizing, so organization can at least offer fundamental resources like safe, affordable housing and access to resources instead of leaving everyone behind rich families.

Like 90% of adults in the US are illiterate. No one really cares to offer resources to prevent this. They grow up in households that do not support education or getting in touch with any market. Freedom is pointless for households in Memphis without enough money to drive across town, not to mention find an environment for education or jobs at good companies.

That will never happen though. I think as we continue to innovate as a human species, we can solve a lot of poverty "problems." Things to meet basic standards of living, like clean drinking water in poor countries and food problems. But there will always be a class system. Even if we did away with capitalism and replaced with communism... There will always be classes of people. Only difference with communism, is that the richest people are people within the government and the entire private sector is poor.

I did think it was weird that even Elon Musk said the Mars government will have to be communist. Why no capitalism in space?

His point is we are gonna run out of resources. And according to BP world energy reports, at current rates, we'd be out in about 30 yrs.

I don't necessarily agree with him on a totally planned economy. Markets are pretty damn good, and we saw the issues with planning in the USSR. It's more like...we need socially responsible markets.

If we could explore space then that would open the road to new resources, but we're unlikely to do so.

That's bs and again, doesn't account for innovation. There is so much natural gas in the ground that we currently just burn a lot of the methane off. Even if correct, if government wasn't so restrictive we'd probably all be driving nuclear cars by now. Each car fitted with its own reactor and could potentially drive for centuries with very minimal pollution. Maybe just the tires and basic mechanical lubricants.... The crisis is manmade. They want a crisis only the government can solve.

Castro is just a dreamer who never grew up.

The world is, always has been, and always will be run by MOGGERS. You can't just say "oh no more MOGGING allowed, jews can get fukt, no billionaires either, etc. We're going to focus on education and conservation instead." This is THEIR planet to do with what they want. We just live here. We're all rentcels on THEIR property.

No it's not. DL the BP world energy report and sum the geometric series at current rates. We just straight up run out in 30 yrs or so. This is all wishful thinking brah. There isn't enough chit srs.

I still call bs. There is more untapped gas and oil in Alaska alone than the entire lower 48 states combined. Yukon, bc, and Alberta has massive amounts of untapped resources as well. The problem is politics.

He was slaying everyone's wife. dunno if they loved that.

Most people are too poor to care about conservation. Germany was burning wood recently.

Only on his little island, especially after the USSR folded. He's no Rothschild or Dupont, never owned any banks, never owned any US politicians, wasn't a billionaire who controlled worldwide mass media, nada.

Whether he's fundamentally right or wrong doesn't matter. Everything he says ignores basic game theory, the nature of humanity and the people at the very top.

That's the thing about exponential growth dude. You really don't get how fast we are using stuff up.

Any green energy supporter that looks down on nuclear but supports raping the planet to strip mine lithium and other valuable resources to make batteries that cant be recycled or safely disposed of is completely full of chit and corrupt. And that is pretty much all of them... I don't think it's a coincidence that general electric lobbies more money than any other company on the planet and these are what our politicians are pushing for. It's a lie. And even some really basic research can call the whole "global warming" religion into question.... Like if carbon dioxide is the sole driver of climate change, why did the big ice ages have a lot more carbon dioxide in the air than modern day? Ice core drill samples from miles of ice in Antarctica show that. But that is inconvenient science I guess? Could it be solar? I mean we are in a massive solar storm. And climate models leave solar output as a constant. So that's a real flaw too.

That's propaganda. Some simple digging just showed that's from active drill sites. Doesn't include untapped fuel. There's more untapped fuel in the ground than what's been extracted since we started drilling.

the "fossil fuel" concept was created by oil barons to maximize profits by making people believe oil was scarce. as we can see with fracking today, oil is way more abundant than previously thought

How many years do we have left before resources dwindle to nothing?

We have 47 years of reserves left not including unfound reserves.

However Rockefellers left the oil business. imo this is not a good sign for oil. maybe they anticipate we'll go electric soon

Yup. And it's a lot cleaner emissions too. Yields are much higher so it takes less resources to extract it. Fracking accounts for 30% less emissions than traditional drilling...

Nuclear is good, but there isn't enough fuel srs.

You're in denial. The ice core samples from antarctica showed how much our CO2 levels increased bro. Do you even read any of the research lol?
