Careercels do you feel insecure about not being an Ivy League ?

Guys , I am having troubles coping with my friends being from the top notch colleges and feel like they have a superiority complex over me . I wish I had made me realise my dream about academic achievements before when I was 15-16 , in those years all I was interested in was video games , girls and soccer .

I have made a new goal , to join a Quant Hedge Fund as a Machine Learning Engineer .

Old Timers , please help . It's taking a mental toll every time I pull out my LinkedIn

Not really.

Because I'm grad school, PhD, and I research a topic that is fairly abstruse and not even well represented by the academics at Ivy League universities. I actually can't think of an academic at an Ivy League university who researches in my particular field, in fact, most of the world's leading thinkers on the subject are in my own country, which doesn't have Ivy Leagues.

Plus, it's not so much the status of the university which counts in my case, it's more so the quality and publication worthiness of my own research. So if I publish in Q1 journals (the best kind) and create really groundbreaking research held in high regard, the fact I'm not at an Ivy League won't matter as much.
Back off, Warchild.

The value of an Ivy league education is becoming diluted since they lowered admission standards and made SAT/ACT easier and more practicable. They aren't even requiring those tests to get in to Ivy League now lmao. the whole point of the tests was narrowing admission down to the best and brightest students

Now they're letting in a bunch of morons they can brainwash. You didn't miss out on much except a chitload of debt

The hedge fund world is still probably impressed by that chit though. See if you can compensate with some additional experience or just get your foot in the door and move laterally

Schools like UW and Berkeley are becoming more prestigious now. Like I respect top math undergrads at Berkeley or UW more than Harvard or Yale. A lot of smart Asians end up rejected from Ivies because of racist quotas.

I believe more in stoned ape theory

some chimps ate some magic mushrooms and it increased our brain size. coupled with natural evolution, we became humans

imagine being the first stoned ape and then realizing everyone around you is just a fuking ape

Yes, thanks to cultural marxism everything is becoming more mediocre. the great is becoming good and the worst are becoming culturally acceptable. good schools are still good but less good

I think you should be more insecure about the fact that you're a careercel than being a non-ivy leaguer. Most Ivy Leaguers are either douchey WASPs/Jews that live in a bubble and wouldn't last two minutes in the real world without all their wealth and connections or are nerdy Indian/Asian kids with overbearing parents that pushed them to become careercels instead of enjoying their youth/lives. I'm friends with a lot of these cats and they grow up to either be gigantic, insecure pricks who have absolutely nothing going for them beyond dick-measuring contests about who is "better" or end up being forever alones who never developed a personality.

They might have more money than I do, but I'd rather be a big fish in a small pond than be a minnow in an ocean of 1%ers and feeling small even though I have it great.

Fuk what school you went to. Where are you now, and what are you doing to get to where you want to be? All that matters.
