I don't associate with people who behave like they do. They would bring me down in life. The only way I was able to achieve anything in life was by getting away from them. Man am I glad I had that opportunity.

My dad is a crackhead that lives 1,000 miles away and I've only seen 3 times since I was 5, so no for him.


My mom is 55 and in decent health, and owns 5 properties (3 rentals) and a plumbing business that nets her and my stepfather about $200K a year, they don't exactly need my help financially. I would if she did though, she was a fukking badass when I was growing up and sacrificed a lot.

I talk to her several times a week though. Grandkids will do that.

I did not anticipate talking about it right now, kind of caught me off guard lol. There are the feels, so thank you for the question. It has been a while.

They destroyed any idea of meaningful childhood me and my siblings could have had. There was significant physical/mental/emotional/ and (claims of) sexual abuse. I will leave the stories out, it was significant man. Not really super uncommon though.

When all is said and done, my dad is the only one that is left. My brothers are drug addicts in and out of jail, which I can't judge them for. I can't say I wouldn't be there if I didn't get a way.

The only thing my dad has done since all that chit is bring more children into the world who are going through a similar situation now.....
