1. Their schedule was a joke. 6 of their games were vs the 4 worst teams in the league record wise. Out of 31 teams these are the ranks of the offenses they played.

31% of their schedule is vs the bottom 3 offenses in the league and they give up a combined 21 points in those 5 games. The one good offense they played in the regular season absolutely smoked them. Jimmy Smith had 291 yards and 3 TDs.


2. Their offense wasn't that bad. 2 guys who are already in the HOF, another one that should get in (Jamal Lewis). They were 16th in total yards and #5 in rushing, which helps the defense tremendously. Baltimore was 3-0 when giving up 20+ points that year, including winning a game 39-36. Their offense only committed 1.6 turnovers per game, which was 9th best in the league.


3. The playoffs. They played great in the playoffs but again, didn't really play anyone.

Broncos had the #2 offense yes, but were playing in the playoffs with their backup QB, Gus Frerrote. Titans were average on offense and would have won 19-10 if Del Greco just made his FGs.

Raiders. Great game by the D

Giants were hot but overall not good.

4. Why was this their only real playoff run? Because their schedule wasn't always this easy and their offense wasn't always this good. 2000 and 2001 were the only years they had an average offense. Real great defenses, like the Kiffin Buccaneers, were able to carry bottom tier offenses on deep playoff runs.

Ray Lewis was unreal that season. Rod Woodson. Great D line. Solid secondary. Jamal Lewis and Shannon sharp on offense. Didn’t lose games on special teams.

I think the bucs team with Gruden was more overrated

2002 wasn't even the best Bucs defense. It was just their best offense. If they had an average offense from 1997-2008 they might have won 4-5 Super Bowls

Wellll, they did win a Super Bowl and you're just a f a g g o t, sooo.....

56 teams won a Super Bowl. The one that had the easiest road gets documentaries made about them. One hit wonder because of their schedule.
