Car wash/detail bruhs GTFIH

OK fellas, let's talk auto detailing and products. Talk to me about your favorite products/gadgets you use (inside & out).

I'm currently using:

Foam cannon (through my pressure washer)
Pump cannon for wheels/tires
Currently using a Chemical Guys foaming wash (but I've been hearing about much better options?)
Aerospace 303 for plastic/vinyl
Lexol cleaner/conditioner for leather
Various wheel brushes/vent brushes

I want to hear what you guys like using.

The only unique thing I have ever learned is to use expensive makeup brushes to dust intricate parts and vents. They work really well.

i am going to buy that brush for the drill and do all the carpets to work in the cleaner/foam.
then use my home carpet cleaner to remove the water and soap.

Was using chemical guys but found gold class by meguiars foams better and is cheaper

Pretty much the same steps as you, with some different products, but probably same results.

Mostly these days I'm just doing foam cannon/ basic washing and drying.

I stopped going too crazy with detailing, I have a friend who does it for a living, so once a year or so I'll let him do a real professional detail. I don't mind paying the premium, paint correction can be pretty time consuming.

I don't ever go thru car washes and my car has never been washed by anyone but me (and my detailer obv).

I can afford to pay someone to do it and in the past I have, but I really enjoy doing it myself.

You using it with foam cannon bruh? I've been reading and it seems like a lot of guys are using the Megs stuff.

I like Optimums car wash. Follow it up with opti-seal it's such an easy product to use and you can use it on everything like the paint, windows, plastic and it'll make everything slick and way easier to wash next time. Lasts a long time too.

This is my setup right now



Karcher K5, using the included wand that also sprays the soap. So far I've been using the Karcher Vehicle Wash & Wax

Also bought a car wash mop on a stick that had really good reviews on Amazon but not a huge fan of it, need a better alternative for the scrubbing

Chemical Guys soap in the foam cannon
Meguiar's soap in my wash towel bucket (buy them both off Amazon)
Flex random orbital polisher/Lake Country pads
Pretty much every type of high-end microfiber towels that Auto Geek carries
3M microfiber towel towel wash liquid
Pinnacle Sovereign wax
Tried several brands of detailers

To be honest, you can't go wrong with Meguiar's products and they are easy to find.

I use car soap. A water bucket. And some MF clothes to wash at the self service bay. Its very hard to keep a car clean if you don't own proper garage. I don't have a garage so my maintenance isn't as high maintenance.

Routine is the same, but using Meguiars Gold Class currently. Cheaper and works fine.

Using chemical guys for tire shine. It's got more of matte finish and works great on tires and black matte trim near the door sills.

Lexol is so cheap, and I've been using it on leather shoes too. The dash etc. Works great.

I've quit the clay bar, polish, and wax phase. My cars are ceramic coated now.

Also bought some rain x window cleaner. Windex wasn't getting them spotless. Alcohol works well, but hoping the rain x works better.

I like the brushes, especially getting small hair and rocks loose in the carpet, now carpet is pretty much spotless. Also trying a sticky type material that you can use in small cracks and vents, but I like the brushes better so far.

Any type of air cannon or dryer is a must imo. Generic leaf blowers work decently well.

Thanks, I've seen this chit. I think I may have used the wipes tho as an impulse buy, which didn't work so well. Do I want the spray?

On interior glass nothing works better than just a dry new mf cloth. For exterior anything works as long as you have a dry cloth to finish after you get the dirt/bugs, for tinted windows lcd screen cleaner works really well.

Feel bad for UScels who have to pay loads more for the GOAT Bilt Hamber. I use:

BH autofoam
BH ultra concentrated shampoo
2 bucket method with a Karcher K5 and snowfoam lance
My car LSP is Lustrous+ graphene ceramic spray, lasting 12-18 months per application

When doing a full detail I have a 600w DA and some pads, Scholl S40 and a clay mitt. My clearcoat is ultra hard so I have to use a really aggressive cutting pad to get the swirls out. Plus side is it swirls much less easily in day to day washing so correction doesnt need to be done very often at all
