The game just lacks the cohesiveness that the Souls and Bloodborne games have, even DS2 mogs Elden Ring.

They took a great formula and went full Ubi soft

I know I'm stating the obvious here, but the main difference between ER and the DS franchise is that the DS games were more linear like an amusement park ride, ER was like an excessively large map filled with content of all different difficulties and reward tiers - including unnecessary somewhat copy-pasted dungeons. It's almost like thinking of how Zelda turned into BOTW.

In a DS game you felt encouraged to explore everywhere and find everything, without feeling the need to look **** up online about the best spells/items. In ER you feel almost obligated to research online for spells/items locations to get the most out of your play style or build.

In a DS game, if someone you're talking to said they beat it, you know for certain that like 80%+ of the content was pursued by them and you could converse about those things. In ER, that drops to like 50%, you have no clue what people chose to skip over or accomplish unless they claim they 100%'d it or something.

I respect Elden Ring though, I'd rate it 9/10, and don't judge people for calling it a 10/10.

It's the only FROM souls style game I have not replayed multiple times, but it's because the game is too big.

Give me a tighter more linear experience any day of the week!
