This whole “life” experience is pretty pointless. As in its a wasted effort. People spend their whole lives chasing dreams, goals, trophies, women, money, etc and none of it changes anything.

Just do whatever the fuk you want, you’re gonna die anyways. Nothing you do matters in the grand scheme of things.

This is extremely motivating when framed correctly.

I appreciate the sentiment.

There is a negative connotation associated with nihilism here, and in some other places, but it isn’t simply giving up.

You get to make your own purpose. That is a difficult thing for people to do, because in order to do that, you have to first accept you don’t have purpose.

I sincerely believe my standard of living has significantly increased, and my life is more complete with this understanding.

Sometimes I get a strange comfort from the idea that when I die I'll just be done and sleep forever...

Not ready to die yet, of course. I wanna see my kids grow up and get married, etc.

But I imagine by the time I'm in my 70's or so, I'll be pretty welcoming to the idea of sleeping forever.

I deadass had a dream where I died srs.
Everything faded to black, then I felt my consciousness disperse into the atmosphere and into the universe and I was at peace. Ded fkn srs. Was one of those dreams that you never forget. No idea why I dreamt it, but it felt so legit that I'm no longer scared of death at all. We are all just tiny parts of the cosmos, completely insignificant, and when we die we get recycled toward other processes.
