Vaping to quit smoking

Vapes are electronic devices that allow nicotine consumption by inhaling vapour rather than smoke. Vaping involves heating a solution of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, flavourings and nicotine, known as e-liquids. E-liquids come in various nicotine concentrations enabling users to control their nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms, such as irritability and low mood. Despite its potential for addiction, nicotine does not generally pose a significant risk, as it has previously been used safely in medicines that are formulated to support people in quitting smoking.

Vaping has been helpful for some smokers since it mimics hand-to-mouth action and creates sensations that can be similar to smoking, such as throat hit. Nonetheless, since any form of smoking is harmful, the full benefits of vaping can only be achieved if one quits smoking entirely. For some individuals, switching to vaping can happen quickly while it may take a bit longer for others to make the full transition.

How to vape safely
Reports of vapes exploding or catching fire are very rare, but always take care to reduce any risks by:

buying a vape from a reputable retailer, so you can be sure it is covered by goverment safety regulations
using the right charger and not leaving a vape charging unattended or overnight
keeping a vape and e-liquid out of the reach of children and pets, as there is a risk of poisoning if nicotine is swallowed.

Thanks ChatGPT.

I like the vapes tbh - but it's addicting and with some possible unknown long term health issues down the road, especially if you re-use the same ones which could be built improperly, and unknowingly inhale burnt metal and chit.

Anytime I consider smoking a cig or cigar, it results in ultimately regret... would rather enjoy the smoothness and yummy taste of a vape, than the distasteful smoke of burning tobacco.

I started vaping as an alternative to cigs. Haven't been a frequent smoker for like 10 years(unless traveling or at parties or something), but have consistently been like a pack per month smoker for the last decade. A couple months ago, I switched to Vaping entirely. Haven't had a cig since then.

It's ok, my lungs are in a lot better shape. But I also hit the Vape every day, so in reality my nicotine intake is a lot higher now. But workouts are better, and I do like the current situation now better. Nicotine also has a calming effect on me, so it's overall a beneficial thing without the drawbacks of it impairing lung function.

I typically do these things in waves, so hopefully I'll eventually get bored with vaping and maybe cut out nicotine entirely. But it's nice not having to hide cigs or smelling like smoke.

Remember that vaping/nicotine also does damage to your gums and mouth. Get a yearly clean up boyo

I used vaping to break my 6 year cigarette habit and eventually gave up vaping altogether after 2 or 3 years.

I used vaping to kick a 16 year cig and snuff habit. It's been 8 years and I still vape though. It's tough to kick nicotine all together
