Did it for about 6 months after I retired from the Army for fun money. Some places have deals every month and you have to go the 2 times per week if you can. I made over 1k the first ten trips as a new donor. Check the reviews of the places around you, you dont want some hack crushing your veins with the needle. It takes an hour per trip on average, but the first time you go involves a ton of questions and a doctor check up.

It depends on the center. Some offer as much as $125 for the first month of consistent visits. Others only $100. And regardless of how routine you go the price drops by about $50 the initial amount and stays at that level.

The trick is making sure you drink tons of water, but not so much you have to go pee in middle of the drawing. Some places are real sticklers about stopping in the middle of a session, but, if you dont drink enough water your blood will be too thick and it will take forever (2hrs) to complete the session.

Also, you can only donate twice per week.

If youre properly hydrated, anywhere from 45minutes to an hour. The very first time you visit you'll be there for as long as 3 hours (depending on how busy it is) because you have to undergo a full physical.

It's best not to go lift or exert yourself too much after the draw.

As long as you go after gym is there any downside to donating?
