Someone being a good friend to you doesn't depend on how much you have known them

Not sure why I came to this realisation at the late age of 25.

But during trying times people whom I have known for years and would expect to be a good friend were quite the disappointment. Although I had suspected them of being a bit of an ******* in terms of attitude at time beforehand.

Whereas I have received more on demand very attentive help from some people whom I have had only a few interactions with beforehand.

I think it is genetically predetermined and these people just have quite a bit more expression of the helpful social DNA aspect.
