Thinking of switching gyms but after reading the contract, I’m not sure if could get out of the new gym’s membership if I wanted to. You basically either have to be 1) dead, 2) permanently injured or 3) have moved like 50 miles away before they’ll let you cancel.

I’ve read it’s not as easy as canceling cards or putting a stop payment on a card. I heard this could damage your credit score if a collections agency comes after you.

What options do you have? I need to have a back up plan. Can you just become the biggest douche in the gym and kill the business by pissing all the other customers off? Leaving weights everywhere, making a mess, being loud…would they basically WANT to kick you out at that point?

Hence why I always pre-pay with cash up front. Gyms are notorious jerkoffs about cancelling. brb you have to mail a written letter 30 days in advance lol

Idk meng but update the thread when you find out. Literally most of the reviews for EVERY SINGLE gym I've looked at online says they've had incredible problems cancelling.

OP are you talking Fitness Connection? When I signed up they said cancelling was easy and could be done online if I wanted. That was a crock of chit.

When you went to their online cancellation page, it was always down (I'm convinced there was never an online page to cancel at all). So I called their customer service number and after verifying some info they told me I couldn't cancel over the phone either. U fukin wot m8

I had to write a letter to some corporate building in Austin with my info and why I wanted to cancel. I did that and after I got charged for another month I called customer service again. The kunts said they never received it.

Had to send a second letter certified mail. Fukers have tons of complaints on the BBB website
