I have questions for you if Xbox is your current favorite among the big 3.

What, in your opinion, puts Xbox ahead of Sony and Nintendo?

What are the upcoming releases you're most anticipating?

What direction do you think Xbox is heading in? Do you think it's a good or bad direction?



Not a flame thread, looking to see opinions.

1. Gamepass. Offers you the widest selection of games you can try for the lowest subscription fee.

2. Starfield, Avowed and the new Forza

3. They are going in the opposite direction of their competitors and focusing more on single player story-driven narratives. I think this is a great direction as these type of games set your platform apart from the rest.

Will look into avowed. Haven't heard of it. I know all eyes are on Starfield, and Forza seems to be one of the best for racing.

Don't know if its my "favorite" but I've got one and I play it the most of the 3 currently.

1. Gamepass allowing me to try new games that I otherwise wouldn't try is pretty legit, it seems to be the best bang for your buck when it comes to the subscription services in that all of the games on PSPlus are all games I already own, and they cycle off much quicker than GP.
1a. Controller design (not including haptics) I think the Xbox controller is the most comfortable controller in the hands and I think the design lab just adds a level of customization that Sony and Nintendo haven't quite reached yet. I do want them to possibly include haptics and maybe move away from AA batteries in the future. I currently have battery packs in mine that function like the other systems but it's annoying to need to pay the extra $10 for the feature.

2. Starfield is the easy answer.
2a. Fable and/or Fable Collection. I'd like to go back through the old games but they just run like complete **** if I'm being honest.
2b. Hellblade 2.
2c. Perfect Dark -- I need a new FPS feel, I'm burnt out on the current offerings.

3. Embracing indie developers and MP has always been the draw of Xbox and it seems like they are keeping up with that with the use of Crossplay plus the addition of what should be a few flagship SP titles give some hope that by mid-gen they'll actually have a solid library and something to build on to cement their spot in continuing to compete through the next generation of consoles.

4. You didn't ask, but one thing I personally wish they'd give up on is cloud gaming. I know it's useful in some countries and remote locations but it feels like a massive resource sink that I could be better suited elsewhere.

My views as someone who has ps5/Xbox but does all my main gaming on pc:

I like the Xbox ecosystem better. Sharing games across pc/Xbox is brilliant. Being able to cloud sync save files is great. I can go from pc to Xbox and keep playing the same game on the same save file. The only money I have spent on Xbox is the price of the console, and gamepass. The gamepass games are fairly subjective, Sony Def has the more aaa banger lineup, but Xbox gets games I enjoy more personally. And even if I don't, it's great because who fukkin cares, I downloaded it for free. Alot of people ask what's the point of owning Xbox and pc, well this is the point. The Xbox is like a console version of my pc extended into my living room, they work so well together.

Ps5 has the more big budget cinematic games, but the cost of play is much higher. 70 dollars for a game is the new standard, but I hate that Sony nickel and dimes me on pc. It's ****ing stupid that my Sony account isn't linked to my pc in some way. 70 bucks on ps5, then another 70 on pc if I want to try it on there... No cross saves so I have to just start the game all over again... Sony is just lacking behind in this department and personally I feel like it's because they'd rather bleed their consumers than do something that is good for gamers. Also it sucks that if I want to try a game and I end up not liking it, money wasted. Steam has a good refund policy, Xbox games are all on gamepass, so Playstation is the only system that feels like I'm getting penalized for wanting to try games I might not like.

I don't do Nintendo. I don't care what anyone says the games are for kids and just don't interest me. Sorry not sorry. There's a reason the controllers are fukkin baby sized. And Nintendo is the most predatory console company out, I don't support them because they don't support gamers.

The ps subscription is pretty good but but realistically the best ps5 ps5 games aren't on there, or they get rotated in after 90 percent of people bought it anyways.

Op old games run better on the Xbox is another plus.

I'm think of getting a Xbox strictly to play old games like GTA 4 and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory LOL. But I'm also hoping they come out with better games. Starfield, Stalker 2, and Fable are what I'm looking at.

Yes, Xbox is the best platform right now.

I like a lot of things about PS5 and Switch though, I enjoy playing GT7 a lot and I still like to game on my Switch as a low powered portable.

Games I am looking forward to right now? Forza Motorsport and Starfield. Seeing as how they're both Xbox exclusives, I'd say that means Xbox must be doing something right. Can't think of anything else I am looking forward to right now, Nintendo desperately needs some new hardware and Sony has nothing that excites me coming out.

Gamepass absolutely mogs PS plus. It's the reason I still boot up my Xbone from time to time. If Sony did something similar that let me play a ton of older, and many newer games on one cheap subscription, it would be amazing.

Starfield, and the fact that the next Elder Scrolls and Fallout will only be on Xbox has me potentially eyeing up a series X in the future. I hope they knock it out of the park with those.

I haven't messed around with cloud gaming much. I don't have a fast connection, so at home the games would play like ass, and I normally don't keep my backbone on me to use my phone on the go. I'd probably have a different opinion if I had fast internet at home.

No interest in FF16? I'm skeptical because 15 kinda went meh near the end for me, but this one seems to be headed up by the FF14 people, which many regard as one of the best FF's. What about Spider-Man 2? Ngl, I'm a sucker for symbiote storylines.

I don't give a flying phuck about Final Fantasy. Never have never will.

As for Spiderman, I am burned out on capechit.

Just to be clear I don't use the cloud game streaming, what I'm referring to is cloud saves just being the same across pc/Xbox. Like my story progress from forza is the same on both platforms, I don't need to start a new save file and do things twice to play on both. If I get tired of using my racing sim on pc I can just go plop onto the couch and continue the same game on Xbox. 10/10 feature imo.

1. Gamepass has been excellent. The only exclusives I play are the Gears games also on Gamepass.

these days I use that way more than my Ps5.

It helps that so many great jrpg games and indie games that I used to think were only on switch or pc, are now in gamepass library. So I can play those on xsx too. Frankly I feel like Microsoft’s JRPG library is a perk of gamepass that is underrated. Maybe overlooked.

Series X / PC and PS5 Owner




- I bought the Series X on the promises of Phil Spencer buying up a million studios and him delivering AAA games that would make the xbox a compelling place to play all the great games on. They've touted for years that games are coming and announced a lot of cool projects like Awowd, Indiana Jones, Fable reboot, Perfect Dark (never played it but xcels seem to put it on goat status even though it's 35 years old) and many more like Starfield etc.


I'm still waiting for the AAA games to drop and we havnt had a peep (yet) of these promised games , so I'm quite keen for their showcase and at least on paper, they're saying the right things about it.


- Gamepass is the only good thing about the system so far. It's got great cross functionality between the series x and PC ... But I've played the majority of those games so it's meh to me and the stuff that have been coming out recently are all hit and miss. Basically just throwing chit at the wall and seeing what sticks.


- So far I've played some games on it and I do dig it, but for the most part my series x is a paperweight rn because I play on PC and PS5 far more, especially the PS5 because the controller is just far superior and way more comfortable + better features. AAA titles on the PS5 is far superior ... They may charge you 70 dollars but you still know that you're gonna get your monies worth and be given a game that's top quality with both the graphics and gameplay to match -- I've yet to play a SERIES X title and be blown away by it


Basically Gamepass is the best thing about it, I appreciate the fact that MS releases all their exclusives on it which means that I don't have to waste any money on it. MS is notorious for dropping the ball on their games (or they just dont seem to release any) so it's nice knowing that I can try it out for "free" .... Whereas on the PS5, sure it may be 70 dollars, but I know that 70 dollars is still money well spent and that they're not gonna give me a half-baked product.



edit - just saw that i'm not the poster op is looking for ... But at least I can give you some perspective from someone that owns multiple platforms.

1) Microsoft is in the process of acquiring Activision, which controls Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Candy Crush Saga, and more.
2) Nothing really lol.
3) Honestly, not sure. It's pretty cool that a lot of the multiplayer games now are cross platform (PC, xbox, and PS players can now play with one another), but that's old news.

Gamepass is unbeatable deal but also Xbox is the more powerful console of the three so why would I buy inferior consoles? (PS5 and Switch owner crew hehe)
Also better controller without stupid battery draining gimmicks.

Upcoming releases? Any multiplayer FPS don't care what console it's on. Campaigns are for friendless virgins (level 25 Necromancer in D4 checking in)

Direction? Don't care as long as I get more FPS games ded fukin srs

New Perfect Dark is unfortunately a hitman clone.
