He fell out of the nest and was baking on the road. He was so hot I could feel it through the tissue.

I scooped him up and I looked for a nest. I didn’t see a nest or any evidence that his mom even looking for him or I would have just tucked him in under the tree. I decided to take him with me because there are cats everywhere he wouldn’t have made it.





Plopped him in the window sill to chill while I figured out what I to do.



The best I could come up with. It’s a million miles to an actual store so we had to make do with what’s available at the dollar store.



It only took us a few tries to get this figured out. He was so dehydrated.



A little more situated and comfy


Now we’re really on the same page. He was eating like a champ and wow those white nubs in his mouth really have some grip.



The next day. A little more grown and still a little salty -_-






But he’s coming around.



The Meanlyworms were a big hit. It took us a few tries before we got the hang of it.



Once he got a little stronger he started to get curious

I think he made it. He bailed out of the chicken coop after about 12 hours and I'm pretty confident I saw him in an oak tree close to the coop the next day.

you may have made a friend for life. pretty sure birds get super attached. moreso than dogs or whatever.

I wasn't able to identify him. I thought he was a Northern Mocking bird because of his feathers but he was way to small, then I thought he might a finch of some sort because of the nubs in his mouth but I couldn't find one that looked like him.

Those things poop a lot.

Hopefully one day an alein will do the same for you.

I appreciate your negativity, I too am a negative *******, but I have an electric wire around the coop far enough around and high enough from the ground to keep everyone safe inside and allow for small fry to make a clean get away without being shocked.

Also, birds are not taught how to fly. They are pushed out of the nest as fledglings.

I didn’t even think about it at the time. But looking back I’m kicking myself in the ass.
Mine is sort of mobile. It was built with the capability of hooking onto the back of a tractor so I could move it every month or so, but I haven’t felt the need to move it because they are roaming the yard most of the day. I didn’t think the dogs, cat and the chickens would get along, but they do.


Everyone giving me the cold shoulder because I’m was running late -_-

I’m definitely still keeping up with that. It’s my passion. I stopped taking lessons for the past couple of months. I had to devote that free time to something else, but now that I’ve completed that I have a few free weeks. So I’m going to take a few pick-up lessons with my instructor in the meanwhile.



This is my new instructor Kiyoe, she’s amazing. I had the same instructor for five years and I got to a point where I just could not work with her anymore.
