Did you guys used to hang out at the mall?

It seems malls are dying out, but why?

One could say online shopping but mall were also good for socialising with friends. What do they do now to socialise?

Have you guys stopped going to the mall? If so why?

I go occasionally cause they have this teritaki chicken that I really like. A place called sarku japan. I wish it wasn't in the mall though cause I hate going in there.

Used to hang out with a group of buds about 7-8 deep at a time and we’d go to the mall arcade every Saturday. Play ping pong, DDR, pinball etc. Then we’d go to the food court and get our grub on. The fact that there were other stores in there was just a bonus, just in case somebody’s birthday was coming up or something, but we rarely shopped fr.

I think this is why places like Dave and Busters are winning. People want to do activities and eat food. Not really shop at overpriced retail stores.

Mall was the best date spot back in the day as a teen or even young adult.

Movie theater
Arcade
Restaurants/food court
ice cream
Spend time walking around shops, giving you stuff to talk about if you got nothing interesting.


and if you were not on a date, it was a great place to find one for all the same reasons

yeah when i was really young me and my buddy would go there pretty much every saturday. brb smoke up beside the building. brb go to the arcade and play this sit in racing game. we even had high scores on there. brb walk around looking at hot chicks and check out random stores (we had are favourites). buddies worked at the theatre so sometimes free movies. it was the best man.

Sometimes. We'd go see a movie and then afterwards grab a bite to eat, look around different shops. I guess an additional attraction was that the mall was warm during winter time. In the mid west there wasn't a whole lot to do outside during winter n the frozen tundra midwest.
