Anyone ever torn a tendon lifting?

TLDR:

Went to do a seated military press and unloading the weight from slightly behind the head felt something in my shoulder.
Couldn't continue workout
MRI Scan
12mm complete tear of the supraspinatus

Seeing the specialist Thursday, this is my first injury weight lifting in 20 years since I started at age 17....im 37 now.

NOT HAPPY!

Hoping I can get away without surgery, but from what I been reading this wont heal on its own, and will mean 6-12 months out of the gym.
