CET - Criminal Elimination Theory

There's no point talking about dwindling prosperity, shrinking of the middle class, etc

Imagine you had a button that could instantly delete criminals when pressed.

Poor/rough areas in your city would be instantly worth much more, since crime is a primary reason they are worth less. American families pay thousands of dollars every year in the form of higher prices due to shoplifters, and we'd get that back. All the wasted time/effort on preventing crime, such as buying fancy car immobilizer devices. Auto insurance would be lower. Being safe to walk or use the metro at night adds viable forms of transportation that didn't exist before. I could go on and on

If we could press that button, americans would instantly double our prosperity. Its criminals that are making us poor

RIP brah

Thanks to speeders we have to spend money to put down speed bumps on critical paths. Eliminating speeders will save a few billion of expenditure per year. And millions of hours back in our pockets collectively from not having to slow down for speed bumps that now won’t exist

Haven’t seen it srs

Was always wondering why people spend so much more money on houses in “nicer” areas even though the houses are older and smaller. Then I saw on nextdoor a warning post in our not so nice area that a couple teenagers are robbing people at gunpoint on the sidewalk and multiple people commented saying they were robbed and had a pistol shoved in their face. Police never even showed up cause there’s a (potentially long) wait to get a hold of a 911 dispatcher when you call.

Then it got me thinking, if only these criminals just didn’t exist it would be like everyone living in these areas would gain hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of housing “value”, cause that’s what the market values not living amongst criminals as

You definitely have to watch them. Government starts a holiday where nothing you do is considered a crime, including murder. Middle class on up can afford home security, poor people can’t.
