South central Texas to Miami and back in 4 days, 42 or so hour drive there and back..
Has anyone ever done a trip like this? This might be one of the crazier ones I'm doing.
I'm meeting up with someone out there to buy rare plants I collect that are too big to ship then heading straight back as I can't leave the plants I have too long without watering, and there's no one here except me at the moment. I really need to get an irrigation system.
I just spent the last 3 hours carrying everything into my garage in 100+ degree heat. I have to say though, I love the heat infinitely more than the cold. I'm really glad I moved here.

I've been from central fl to El paso and driving that long blows. But I did enjoy the vast empty spaces where you can just cruise for hours and barely see anyone

Furthest I’ve done was Columbus OH to Seattle WA.
3 nights 4 days. But I slacked and just went Billings to Bozeman one day and chilled.
Edit: Actually did Seattle to Raleigh NC. Stopped in Boise, Denver, Kansas City tried to push but had to stop beyond Nashville.

Ive driven across the country twice from San Fran to Washington DC, and from San Fran up to Seattle and back. Also took a round trip around the whole south. The best driving is anything west of Denver for scenery, then the South. The Midwest and NorthEast is boring af.

3 hours I do weekly, it's super easy.
5 hours I get bored.
8 hours begin getting tired.
9.5 hours begin taking nap on side of road.
10 hours exhausted and need to end it.
Good luck op.
You can get medical easily in Texas, but only gummies and tinctures. I have a prescription for ptsd, the telemed visit and process was easy.

Recently did Houston to Cali solo. Took me about 2 days and I stayed in a hotel. Trip was brutal, music and podcasts can only do so much. NM couldn't come fast enough and the trip was a breeze after that. Never noticed how much of the west is plain dessert but driving through the hills of Cali was pretty sick, especially coming from the flat state of FL. Driving isn't that bad but after 13hrs is when I start to check out if I'm not on the edible+monster stack.
Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; and if it is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

Once you get in the zone it's easier than you think. But I do highly recommend audio books. It was fun listening to stephen king chit when I was on those long midwest 80 mile stretches between gas stations and nothing else in between not even highways lights for long periods.
I was actually planning on Steven King this time, I might try The Stand.

OP the audiobook Hatchet was good. And we have also been fans of the Terry Pratchett audiobooks if you like fantasy. Something with some action.

When my kids were little, I did 1000 miles at once from Disney to Philly. On the way down, vacation was new and exciting and we took 3 days to drive down to Orlando and stopped at several places and visited people and stuff. At the end of vacation, 6 and 4 year olds are basically worn out and cranky, so on the last day, my wife took the kids to the pool to tire them out while I napped, then we ate an early dinner, strapped them in the car at 5pm, gave them some dramamine, and took off to go straight through. It was about 17 hours and we got home around 10am the next day, and I went straight to bed while my wife dealt with the house and the kids. The hardest thing was it hurt my back to sit in the same position for that long.
