Quitting job that could lead to over $100k in a couple years?

Only making $80k now in mid 20s.
On track to make $110k-$120k in a couple years.
Bored of working and officelling.
Have $70k savings with $25k debt from Uni.
Want to just quit and NEET for freedoms for at least 1-2 years before trying out a new career.

Yeah I know, it’s not that much these days.

That makes it worse that I have to wait and work hard just for that messily $120k that will be worth even less in the future.

I just want to quit and take time off to spend all day chilling at the park or go shopping during the day. Go for walks and stuff.

If you have no kids then now is the time to do it.


I make great money but hate my career field. I’m thankful I can support my family BUT I wanted to quit back in 2018 and hike the Appalachian trail then focus on becoming a firefighter.

I had no kids or wife at the time. Had I had the courage to do that I would likely be living a much happier life now albeit with significantly less money.

No wife, no kids, extremely unlikely I’ll ever have a chance at marriage and family.

Live with parents. But want to move out alone into apartment to live alone sometime in the next year or so. Live in a crazy expensive city.

So won’t be able to live alone if no job that pays at least $75k to rent a tiny studio.

But since live with parents currently can quit and just sleep and go for walks and listen to music if I have no job.

i make 85k and have 3k every month to blow on whatver I want. I can't imagine how easy life would be with 120k.

I dont know if you realized it yet, but 20-somethings are financially screwed in Biden's America. If you're ahead right now, last thing you're going to want to do is fall behind. I lived with my parents throughout my 20s while in school and did a lot of partying. But that was years ago and things were different then. Im still behind in some ways from that, but will end up being much better off financially than most people.

If you slack off now youre just going to have to make up for it when you get older. And you havent got a stable economic future to fall back on.

Would need Atleast $150k, ideally $200k to move out and comfortable live here while still working. So still a solid 3 or so years away but I’m already burnt out even WFH 3-4 days a week doesn’t help

Not american but yeah the economy is always bad whenever people talk about it and everything has always been really expensive were I live.

That’s why I don’t want to quit cause I will definitely not be able to move out and live alone.

School loan gets paid off by being taken off my pay check every 2 weeks. I think I should pay off in one lump sum but will probably just leave it to be paid off from my salary

Sad part is that I’d do anything to have a fat wife that spends my money…can’t even get that cause no one is interested in a relationship with me, not even single mums.

i left out the part where she makes you upgrade the furniture evey 2 years because she's bored. OH man. My sugarbaby told me she owns a $2,000 bed. She makes 50k/year. LMAO at women srs. My master bed cost $170 and came in a box. Can not tell the difference between hers and mine. We smash in both just fine LOL.
