For the most part, that's what i do. The other part is me trying to be good to them despite reasons not to be

I hate a couple of my family members. I would prefer to never see them again and have no contact with them in any manner ever again. If your family members feel about you the way I feel about mine, the ones I hate, then just stay away and don't contact them because they genuinely want nothing to do with you.

If your family are OK/Normal, patch it up asap, swallow your pride / grit your teeth. Whatever it takes to get stuff back to an even keel. Nip it the bud, or that chit can go on indefinitely.
