If you were playing only competitive games, like CS, Valorant, Apex, then LG's 27 inch 1440p 240hz OLED would probably be the best.
https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27...gaming-monitor
You could even step up to 360hz, but I've tried those and you hit diminishing returns really fast. I would prefer a OLED 240hz panel over a 360hz IPS. I used a 240hz monitor for a year and it was noticeable coming from 144hz, but not quite the leap from 60hz -> 144hz.
If you can drive 1440p 240hz though, it's way better to just go 4k 144hz. The increase in fidelity is very noticeable in games + browsing in general.
I bought this monitor because I wanted Mini-LED (no risk of burn in) and it has been really nice. It has like ~1100 dimming zones so no banding in dark scenes, and it's high refresh rate and pretty responsive. It's also pretty cheap for what you are getting

Competitive / fps = 240hz 1440p 16:9
Casual gaming / productivity / ultrawide juicy Ness = 21:9 3440x1440p
Mogger status = Samsung ark, any of the 49" 32:9 ultrawides
Potential God tier = Samsung odyssey neo g9 oled 32:9 coming soonhttps://www.samsung.com/us/computing...E&gclsrc=aw.ds
I use an Asus ROG swift 240hz 1440p 16:9 mostly because I play fps on it and that's the size and feel I'm used to.
Ideally oled is the way to go, up to you if you wanna risk it for the biscuit with burn in.

Yeah I had the C2 42 inch.
Beautiful screen, but just too big for PC usage as I like to sit and browse and listen to music and WFH a day or two a week.
34inch ultrawide / 27inch 16:9 would be my preference.
I have a 6900XT

If you're some sweaty loser get like a 21" with 1000 fps.
If you're single player immersive overlord, get ultrawides or oled types with 4k hdr / minimum at 32"

That 27 inch LG would be perfect for your situation I think. With the advancements in OLED tech, you also don't need to worry too much about burn-in. You could leave static images on the screen for years without issue, which you wouldn't do, and even if you did, you'll probably upgrade your monitor before you seen any burn-in anyways. Is 4K at 27 inch much different to 1440P at 27inch?

And at least for me, there is a big difference in 1440p and 4k, even at 27 inch. Our eyes can see a pixel density of ~300ppi, or something like that, and 4k 27 inch is only ~160ppi. A bigger screen is better for productivity, but on a smaller screen everything just looks really smooth, even without AA.
I use a 1440p ultrawide for work and I forget how nice 4k looks until I boot up my PC.

I ended up with the LG GP850-b
1440p, 180hz and lightning quick response time, blacks aren't great but that's its only real drawback
I couldn't justify spending an extra $1000 au for the same sized OLED.
Thanks for you advice boys.
