WFH Crew: How much money do you save from working from home?
Interviewing for a WFH position but the pay might make about $5K a year less but I'm wondering if I'll at least break even.
As of now, over 1hr 58mi commute each way to/from work. Won't have to hire a dog walker at $20/day/5days a week.

A LOT.
Just the savings on gas and maintenance has added up over these last 3 years. My insurance is also lower because I'm driving fewer miles.
Another savings is the cost of eating out. Usually when I rush in the morning I don't have time to pack a lunch so I'm always ordering take out.
I've even turned down job offers at different companies because they were fully on site. Even factoring in the lost cost savings, I'd have made more money. But I declined the offer. WFH is much better for my mental health.

Everything I post is satire.

It's also a bit easier for me to be productive and get work done, when people work at the office they are definitely more productive and on top of things
whether they like to admit that or not

You will see savings because you will be spending less on gas, takeout, clothing, vehicle maintenance however the biggest savings is your mental health
You don't have to mingle with annoying co-workers, you get to spend time with your family and pets

I'm looking onto fiding a WFH job and not have a vehicle at all for awhile. Get everything deliverd and have zoom meetings for everything and Uber when I do need to go somewhere.
I want to go back to Palm Desert, CA. (Palm Springs)

Thats 4 hours less per day you have to technically spend dedicated to work. Multiply that amount by the hourly wage.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

I fill up my tank once a month now. No bs commute back and forth with all of the terrible drivers.
I actually get more work done by not wasting time getting ready and driving in.
Dont have to deal with mgr's on site as well.
I can go onsite if i want but its rare

Also if you WFH or even hybrid you dont have to live so close to a city center where there is higher housing costs.
Live in LCOL, dont have to eat out, less gas and car maintenance cost, oh yea your sanity
IDK how much more $$$ id need to go in an office 5 days a week. Like 50% more paycheck I still would prefer wfh lol. Doesnt mean Im a hermit, I just phucking hate office culture. If I can start a business one day would love to be around people all day but office culture sucks
