Well.

New people come in. Make a thread this is meant to be unique, interesting, funny or whatever and get negged hugely by users who love to neg lower rep power people. It is a huge turn off. I know rep power are useless points. I get it. But we all agree it matters less the more you have. If you are red, you are seen as chit. There is a large swath of users who only funtion to F over others, especially new people by instantly negging them into the red on new accounts or low rep accounts.

While rep power doesn't really matter, it really does.

So long as users are free to bash new users, new users are always facing a huge up hill battle to post here.

To be fair some of the newest users we've had are responsible for a majority of the chit posting here.
