Miscers on Centrelink GTFIH

What do you do all day?

How much better is it doing things like shopping or gym during work hours?

Are your friends also on Centrelink so you can meet up during the day when it’s not busy?

What’s it like enjoying your life while people like me sit at a computer and pretend it’s work and while tradies break their backs for money?

Everyday must be like Friday/Saturday for you.

Isn't Centrelink like $650 a fortnight?

After you pay your rent, assuming it isn't some absolutel hovel or housing commission, how TF do you even have enough to live off? How could you enjoy life on that money? It's not enough.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

Wha...?

Centrelink has jumped up a lot since I last looked at it. But then again it had to, what with cost of living and the ways our lives depend on smartphones etc. now. But even still, that's not enough money. You can't save up wealth, because I lived off a PhD stipend paying $1,145 a fortnight and that wasn't really enough. It paid the bills and chit but can't save up or have a lot of luxuries.

Wouldn't a life with no structure and no demands or progress make you depressed AF after awhile?
Back off, Warchild.

Was homeless back in 2006 at age 16 and centerlink saved me as I was sleeping rough at my old highschool.

Got $785 every 2 weeks and rent for an entire house was 200pw (got other losers to rent the spare rooms), was goat being a teen and flushed with cash .
They also kept paying me for 6 months after I got a job to %110 make sure I'd be ok.

They do help people and not everyone who gets centerlink is a loser.

Yes, they like to lie on roads because they're warm. They get run over by large trucks not too infrequently and get squished all over the road.

Not too long ago they found a severed leg of one of them on the side of the road, not sure where the rest of them went.
Back off, Warchild.

Very sad but yes this happens, you really need to understand the background of the history and having majority of your people slaughtered by the British and enslaved .

My grandmother lived a very sad alcoholic street life after having her children (my mother ) forcibly removed from her care under the white australia policy.

We have dry zones that are alcohol free and drive them to huff petrol and go silly.

How do they confirm you're aboriginal. I've always wanted to tick that box and see if I get away with it

Usually a letter from an aboriginal community group signed by an elder that knows you/your family but only need that to claim Abstudy (student payment)

Otherwise its just a question they ask and gets marked on your record, more for statistical purposes doesn't affect anything

Edit: it will potentially affect some of the services you can get through your job provider

This is correct, just had to get a letter from my childhood elder for 18 weeks a year free childcare.
