Only pop in and out with watching, but have noticed that ever since Sami won the tag belts, all that equity built up over months and months with the Bloodline storyline evaporated. Obviously you knew it was going to lapse after they couldn’t go all the way with him beating Roman, but good god. It’s almost as if he completely changed characters. Now he is basically taking a sidekick/backseat role to plug this non-funny dramatic schtick for that fat loser KO. What happened?

This. Not the biggest or fastest or even close to the best. He took that role in the Bloodline and did his job better than anyone else could and it was sincere. Unfortunately Sammy is a mid-carder and the story came to an end.

Completely agree with the sentiment of responses that Sami wasn’t sustainable in a top spot nor is he a top guy. I more so just don’t understand why the E chose to be so night and day with how blatantly they’ve stripped his character of the personality traits, quirks, etc that got him big support in the first place. Why wouldn’t you atleast see what you have by keeping some of it in tact once shifting to life after the bloodline? Why completely disregard all the time spent on character development and continuity?

Maybe some of it is they don’t want him taking up KO’s shine. They’re clearly trying to do something with him with the way they have Sami as sidekick. KO is a fuking neckbeard who will never be credible in this tough guy role they make him out to be nor viewed as a top guy either. Most of this section would beat him in a shoot.
