I asked what she was doing later and she was telling me about school/work stuff. I said we should hang out sometime and she said "we'll see"

What does that mean?

I either say "let's hang out" or "wanna hang out" depending on the context, and let the chick ask when. Then I figure out her schedule and set a date.

Even for smashes on apps? IRL I can understand it, you ask her out and is she's into you she'll say yes and figure out a time that works. When you're chatting with her on your phone and aren't making clearer suggestions regarding times and places imo that's a big mistake.

Not sure how you go about it, but you don't want to suggest a specific date without first figuring out her schedule since it's never good to get the chick used to saying no to your advance. First figure out what days she's available then suggest a specific date. Or maybe that's what you meant?

Guess I've always done it in the opposite order and it's worked for me. Hey, you wanna hang out this Thursday night? If she says she has something else going on then I ask her when she does have free time.

I suppose in the end if she's actually interested both ways should do the job just fine. Personally I like the more assertive and direct approach.
