Humans started off as reptiles

Then they became chimps, then cavemen, then humans. Our next stage is cyborgs

Things like natural evolution, magic mushrooms and cooking helped our past evolutions, next up is AI and technological interfacing

We are biological machines designed to continuously evolve. The question is why are we machines designed to evolve, why did we begin to exist in the first place, and who programmed us

Before we were reptiles we might have even started as amoeba

meh, I feel like with the development of the more evolved areas of our brains, resulting in our increasing ability to change the surrounding environment to fit us, instead of us needing to adapt to the environment, completely removes any incentive for mutations that will stick as a result of being so beneficial.

I guess if you are going with cyborg for our next step, then that is the advanced part of our brain forcing evolution.

Does it count as evolution?

Our environment is drastically changing due to tech. Things are easier than ever. We won't evolve our brains or bodies, we'll evolve our technology which will evolve our capacity to do stuff

Evolve capacity = increased ability of modern society to pile stressors and unnatural conditions on humans that would normally make them rebel and overthrow society but will put up with it because of the new coping mechanisms

- humans create AI > Terminator/Skynet/End of humanity

The first one seems okay. The second one looks like a slippery slope that could morph into the third one. The last one is the nightmare.

What about developing in another way though? Like what if humans gain new types of perception/abilities? Stuff that currently is classified as spiritual or woo?

We've already had prophets, messiahs, shaman, priests, rabbis, and witches. Time for something else
