anyone still use protein powder?

havent tracked macros for chit but started working out seriously and I'm now on week 6. Feels good to get dat dere momentum

Now I eat like a normal person, is it worth 2 chits to get protein powder? I'm definitely only getting like 80g of protein a day

in all seriousness will it make a different to take 2-3 scoops of whey a day over the next year?

and im not talking optimum protein, I'll buy body fortress and that's it. I have a 401k and bills now

I have a couple bags of Ka'Chava that I should probably start using. But just too lazy to make protein shakes lately.

If you get whey protein isolate it’s better than regular whey, but more expensive
Exercise will get you through times of ill health better than no exercise will get you through times of good health.

Some GNC double chocolate 100% whey (99% rice flower, 1% cockroach), liquid egg whites, mud water mushroom supplement, black coffee as a filler.

Body Fortress is junk. Many cheaper protein powders spiked their protein numbers with cheap aminos to get the nitrogen numbers up in the testing. Very unscientific way of putting it and I'm drawing on memory here, but it came to light here years and years ago.

Just stick with real quality sources like meat, eggs, etc.

lol, supplements ain’t testing chit….

numbers do not matter. They are legally allowed to lie on the label of their products as they are not regulated.

However, I don’t think you just made that up or anything. Would be curious to see the literature.

You could just go with egg whites if you want easy, 100% bioavailable protein that doesn’t need to be cooked, or prepared.

I can't find the massive thread that went over all this, but it was pretty huge when it happened. All the cheaper "value" stuff came under suspicion.

Another. This one has a massive essay that was actually copied from a review lol. Basically performing a bit of math showed the protein numbers were horsechit and later lab tests proved it.

Thank you sir.

I don’t see BSN on there, they had a little scandal as well, I am sure we talked about it here.

I do feel like most people understand at least to a degree supplements are mostly placebo and filler.

the tingling you get from your preworkout is niacin. it does absolutely nothing for your performance in any way. The only thing it does is give you that feeling.

Welp, preworkout out is kicking in (rubs hands on red face and neck to relieve itching) LIGHT WEIGHT

lmao yeah stay the fuk away from bodyfortress. there's a reason that **** is one of the cheapest options out there.

There are some protein powders out there that have undergone 3rd party testing (check labdoor, etc) so they're not all placebo and fillers.

I use this [Good Labdoor rating], and mix it with half Kroger Carbmaster low sugar chocolate milk, half water, and a drop of sugar free salted caramel flavoring.

i just use optimum nutrition whey since they've been tested and are known to not be lying. no need to buy some protein powder from a laboratory trying to jew you over a few grams of protein.

I just started 2 shakes a day after buying a discounted, name brand, 5 pound tub, at Costco.
The post workout shake seems to be the most beneficial for me and my goals, but you will need to test this out on yourself.
Iso pure Zero Carb P

Why put in a redline workout with a 9/10 intensity only to starve the muscle?

Yep. Picked up 4, 5lb tubs from Kroger last week. They had them marked wrong and instead of being "buy 1 get one free" for $30 like the tag said.......somehow they were marked 4 for $10....so I now have 20lbs of Kore brand Whey Protein.
