Finally a card worth watching



Picks:

Volk
Moreno
Whittaker
Turner
Price

I think they're all favorites so very unlikely to be correct. The closer it gets the more I have a feeling Yair might do something crazy.

Pantoja is definitely capable of winning but Moreno seems to be in his prime rn.

Whittaker should destroy Dricus, maybe third round KO.

Turner first round KO.

I can't believe that Robbie is probably gonna lose to NIKO PRICE in his final ever fight.

agreed, this is a great card.

volk is most likely going to win but if for whatever reason it stays standing, Yair has a chance. Yair's kicks are simply too powerful to just block and they can come quickly, with no telegraph and out of nowhere so might be hard to evade as well. If he can condition Volk to expose himself, he has a chance.

Moreno vs Pantoja is interesting. Pantoja has beat him before but clearly we are seeing a prime Moreno. Moreno is definitely the much better boxer, and his grappling/BJJ might be enough to neutralize Pantoja. But we will see.

Dricus is going to get destroyed unfortunately. Whittaker is way too crafty, likes to move, keep distance, pick apart fighters and doesn't gas out as easily. But maybe he gets greedy and caught (unlikely to happen though).

Hooker at this point is done and has been the past few fights. His chin is cooked and one of his advantages as a LW is his longer frame. Unfortunately for Hooker, Jalin is some sort of alien and has some legit power. Hell, Hooker could get submitted as well.

Lawler vs Price ... lol. Should be entertaining, but Lawler at this point is slow and aged.

Volk should take this by late gnp finish or decision, but I have a sneeky feeling Yair might pull the upset and catch him with 1 and put him on ice skates. As you say those kicks come up fast, especially on someone as short as Volk.

Morneo dec is a fairly easy call I think. If we look at how much each fighter has improved since the last fight, (5?) years ago, its 100% moreno.

Hooker is getting sparked out, hes being fed to Turner. RD1 KO for Turner.

Man, people seem to forget so easily how Volk is one of the most dominant and cerebral fighters in the game. He will easily fuk up Yair and it won't even be close. Yair went to a decision with Holloway and got knocked out by Frankie Edgar.

I agree that it could be an easy decision for Volk, especially if it goes to the ground. But I feel like an Usman vs Edwards 1 could happen. Holloway is a much different fighter. You can't put this guy away. Volk does have a good chin but like we saw in Volk vs Holloway 2 he can get rocked. Even in the Islam fight he got rocked. And Yair is one of the most powerful kickers with unorthodox techniques. Sometimes to beat technical skills, being unorthodox is what is needed. Nobody can tell me that a well placed kick from Yair couldn't put out Volk.

I could absolutely see Yair kicking Volk's head off i.e: what Edwards did to Usman, or what Oliveira did to Dariush. But overall, Volk is a much better grappler and is a more complete/technical striker.

Sick KO by the mexican guy and Saaiman has nothing but impressed me so far as such a young lad. Compare his skillset to Chase Hooper's (1 year older) and he seems levels above.
