Just realized my personality has changed a lot over the last few years (srs)

And for the worse.

I’ve been doing some self reflection lately, and I realized I used to be a much happier, funnier, more charismatic, witty, cheeky etc dude, just fun as hell to be around. Have always been very introverted and reserved but still when it was time to socialize I’d have a blast and make others have a blast as well. Kind of saw myself as an amazing dude.

But nowadays, I’m just way more serious about everything. My sense of humor is almost dead, mainly because I just don’t feel like laughing or making others laugh/have a good time. I don’t know why it is but I simply am a bit more of an ******* now.

I don’t know if it’s because i woke up to how people really are and human nature, getting more into philosophy and aligning with the more depressing currents of philosophy (like determinism, lack of free will etc) or I’m simply maturing (badly), but I don’t like it.

I’m also noticing the same in some other miscers that used to be more laidback/chill/cheeky and are now taking everything serious or personal, or showing their frustration trough their worlds very clearly.

I’ve always been a blessed person in many ways, but what I liked about myself the most has always been my personality and how special I though I was, or what a positive force I was to anybody that I connected with. So I need to find a way to change it back ASAP. You attract what you are, and I don’t want to attract numb/indifferent energies to my life.

Anybody feeling the same ?

Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

It happens. When you have more responsibilities on your shoulders, it's not easy to compartmentalize it all and be you. I consider it a skill, and something that takes time to develop. Living "lightly" isn't easy when a lot of people depend on you. But it is doable.

Yes, although I’m going through a depression from burning skin nerve pain in my neck and caring for my aging relatives. It’s hard for me to go to social events whereas it was so much easier last year.

I have a concert to go to tonight and I’m dragging my feet on here.

I'm way less angry and much more grateful nowadays. I used to be the most angry and intense person which I had to release via lifting/soccer. Otherwise I was very chill and reserved. It was a weird dichotomy for me. When I started believing in God as well I started really looking at life differently. I have definitely lost my sense of humor I used to have though. I'm way more at ease now, but a bit more serious about life.

Covid just made me a bit more outspoken and determined with my beliefs. I'm still very grateful and nice in general to people, but I stopped holding back my thoughts.

So honestly idk how I come across to people anymore. No one really calls me out on it and people seem fine with me. But I'm not the same old funny and goofy guy I used to be which was pretty much beaten out of me by life and seeing the world quickly crumble around me as everyone goes and hides in their homes and rarely gets together anymore.

We're about the same age brah so it seems like we're both going through that phase of questioning life, questioning a bit about if our path is the right one or what who you want to be as a man. It's a growth stage, but it's a tough one right now. I feel like I'm in that in between stage of life where I have a lot of freedom and time but not a lot of responsibility, and I want more responsibility with raising a family in which will give me much less time and freedom. It's weird.
did u get a gf yet or are you still on that incelrage time buddy?

A lot of people's personalities change for the worse over time. Saw it happen to a lot of friends in their mid-late 20's.

I noticed this a bit in myself recently and I'm working on lightening up. I think for me a lot of it has been because of getting black pilled in terms of clown world. I always knew it because of learning about economic history but its so out in the open now.

I was watching some trash TV from 2015 (The Challenge) and realized how light hearted and good things were back then. Politics and pollarization has ruined modern life, seriously.

I'm avoiding politics and slowly weaning off the misc also.

Sad but true.

Politics is cancer, all it does is make people angry all the time but you can't go anywhere without it

Yep. I went from carefree to pretty damn serious during the last 12 or so months. Mostly because my work slowed down and life became harder.

But it's good, because all my competition will go away, and I'll probably make a **** ton of money next year.

I’ve been there. My suggestion is get away from the internet and just focus on irl. Misc especially is an echo chamber of depressive and negative energy. Even if you think it doesn’t affect your psyche, Havoc posting a new video of some guy getting stabbed or curb stomped every day alone will do a number on anyone’s mental health over time

It's not just you. I've noticed everyone in real life, young and old, are becoming more and more nhilistic.

The blackpill is going mainstream, not because it's "cool" or "trendy" but because there is undeniable truth in it. But not everyone can handle the blackpill, not everyone can remain calm and stoic while staring the brutality of life right in its eyes.

But I wouldn't worry too much about it, eventually people will find a way to move past the brutality of the blackpill and find some degree of happiness in their life and be more cheerful - even if it means reverting back to bluepill.

Yes. I think that happens to a lot.of.men in their 30s. I've been feeling similar lately so maybe it's part of aging and maturing. I do miss being more aloof and easygoing tho.

This has been really bad the past year or so, but especially the past few months. It's part of why the misc has been slowly down so much lately. I ended up taking a month break from misc not too long ago because it was annoying me so much.

I've also seen this negative behavior in other online spaces and also in real life. People complaining about the most mild grievances in check out lines. Think people are just frustrated with the world and are lashing out more. Problem is it also creates a self repeating cycle.

It's time to settle down and build a family. A man who only has himself to care for will never be truly happy. You're literally not programmed to live like that.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Some good replies ITT, but on mobile so cant quote them all.

Seems like there’s a common ground though, I think current clown world, dating dynamics, the clear abuses of power from the elite lately etc has a lot of people heavily frustrated with their lives, and even if you aren’t directly affected by it, since humans are social creatures and mostly dependent of each other, it’s bound to affect everyone too different degrees.

Misc isn’t the most positive place either, hardly any fun trolling anymore, or lifting/motivational threads, it’s just basically more toxic internet black pill violent racist **** most of the time, with the same NPC threads everyday who can’t be good for anyone’s mindset lol. Seeing the same forearm physique update thread everyday from the Asian brah is seriously making me consider if the misc is a good place to spend time in lol, that **** can’t be healthy.

And lastly, the same problem than 99% of people have nowadays, the lack of a good healthy romantic connection that is good enough to bring kids to this world. Now I’m not an incel, but also struggle finding a healthy traditional beautiful woman that is actually worth settling down for, which fair enough could be a sign that I’m not ready or good enough for that, yet, and my current numb and indifferent personality is most likely not helping in that endeavor.
