It was a sad one.

Did you know The Little Mermaid (1975, not Disney) was sad too? We got it because my sister wanted to watch the Disney version, and my dad bought a cheap copy of what he thought was the right movie off the street.

No happy dancing, 350% tears for a kid to see that.

Old Yeller will bring the tears too. The Incredible Journey (1960s) is a wonderful wholesome show. Throw in My Dog Skip if you want some childhood tears.

I've never seen it.

I remember Where the Red Fern Grows book and movie messing me up when I was younger.

Edit: maybe I did see it a long time ago. It looks familiar but I don't remember.

Probably when the Mom gets caught by the farmers kid then has to jump out of the bird cage. I didn’t understand it until I had kids of my own.
