Two of the reasons I ALWAYS drive over flying
Unless going overseas ofcourse is :
1. I want to have my own vehicle with me at my destinations & control the route/breaks/food.
2. Because of being trapped in close proximity to weirdos, whales, and annoying kids with no recourse.
Exhibit A:

2. Because of being trapped in close proximity to weirdos, whales, and annoying kids with no recourse.

driving is fukking awful. way more time, way more effort, way more risk(morons on the road, cops pulling you over for bs, bad weather/conditions)
would rather buy a plane ticket, get drunk, sleep or play video games while traveling, and not waste time.

I have to travel 1,400 km semi regularly. When flights are too expensive I drive and usually regret it. A speeding ticket or car problems makes flying cheaper. Just did 2,800km round trip on Monday and lady friend made me take her rogue with 85k kms. Tranny got fkd.

If drive distance is around 4 hours or less, it’s always worth to drive I think.
Actual flight time is only 40 mins or less, but then you gotta be at the airport early enough to get through the useless tsa line, then you have to either check luggage and hope they don’t fukk it up, or even if you’re smart and only do carry ons, you gotta still wait for boarding to finish, and taxiing. Then you land, and again deal with taxiing. Even if you’re alway first class it can take damn near 3 hours or more if you have to wait for the carousel.
At that point the stress of being around so many people, dealing with tsa (even with global entry it’s gay since so many have it because it’s so cheap), and being on a cramped plane seat (almost all domestic flights that short are on puddle jumpers so even “first class” isn’t ideal) isn’t worth it.
Anything more than that and it’s flight time baby. Can’t beat being on a beach from the Midwest within 4 hours of being awake.

I honestly just can't take my gear while flying
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

2. My time is very valuable, thats why instead of sitting in a plane full of people I don't want to be around, giving up 100% of my freedom and control "to save time", I take control of MY OWN TRIP. I leave when I want, I stop when I want, I eat when I want, I play music and make calls as much as I want, and I arrive at my destination when I want. My time is too valuable to sit on a plane, I much rather use my time exploring new towns and cities and seeing what the country has to offer.
Sorry that you don't get much time for vacations you may want to negotiate with your boss bud. Have fun sitting on the tarmac for three hours next to a whale or getting your flights delayed/canceled and having to wait in line like some pleb to beg for a hotel voucher.

I like driving too but it's usually just not practical because of time constraints.
If I go visit my mom In Florida it's a 2.5 hour flight, or like a 20 hour drive. I can't just drive down for a weekend visit, but if I fly I can.
Traffic is also a big factor... I used to visit my sister in DC... ****ing nightmare traffic from NJ all the way to DC. Miserable drive that should only be like 4 hours but usually ends up being like 6 or 7.
I drove to Ohio from NJ and it was an awesome drive, barely any traffic, did the entire drive in one shot, took like 11 hours or something but I was cruising the entire time.

Tell me you have never left the USA without telling me you haven't left the USA.. You probably haven't travelled more than 300 miles away from your house.

Flight, you get to your destination fast with little effort outside the TSA bs.
Driving, you get to see more, experience more places. I have a trip coming up that is 700mi+ and yes I'm driving. 11-12hr drive but there are some things I love about that drive.
