It would be. Would be goat to have your own private pool to swim at. But unfortunately most pools are crowded with tons of disgusting people, at least around where I am.

I am addicted to swimming.
I do it every chance I get and when I am not doing it, I fantasize about doing it.
I have no idea why but I fugging love it so much. I am fortunate to have access to a 50 meter pool year round.

Swimming is great cardio. A few summers ago I would go to the pool in my neighborhood and do laps. When I was young I was on swim team but haven't done laps in many many years. It was crazy how hard it was. I'd love it if my gym had a pool.

There is a lot of technique in swimming (same with running tbh) and folks would get a lot more out of both with some serious training.

Used to run 5v5 bball with the boys every friday. I remember this one week I did two swimming sessions of laps during the weekday. Then came friday. Stamina was thru the roof. I could run every fastbreak for hours and felt 0 fatigue

It’s great cardio. But there’s more to it for me. I legitimately think that people were meant to be around water, and swim regularly. It’s why I always imagined myself living near the ocean while I was growing up (though my life didn’t turn out that way). I like how pool lights shine on a house. I like being able to hear waves.

I swim 3 days a week (the 3 days that I don't lift) and my wife swims 6 or 7. My daughter "swims" most days too.
I do 2 miles and it takes me just under an hour.

Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!
The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.
They had the technology to rebuild me. They made me better, stronger, faster......

I swam competitively for like 14 years.
It's a great workout, but fuking boring. And you have no music because they can't make bluetooth headphones that work underwater.
I much prefer biking.
