MMA is better in a street fight, but Boxing is harder to be the best at.

It's as simple as that.

MMA fighters have a wider skillset that includes grappling so MMA guys would be better in a street fight.

Boxing however has a far bigger talent pool and is a lot more highly specialised.

You need more talent and skill to rise to the very top of boxing, as there is a lot more competition and a lot less variation of styles. So you HAVE to be the absoloute best at the discipline to make it.

Theres upsets all the time in MMA because of the varied styles meaning someone who's mid in their discipline can beat someone at the top of another discipline.

If Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, Oleksandyr Usyk had started BJJ at 8 years old and gone down the MMA route they would 100% be world champions, why because they are absoloute freak of nature elite athletes and would be in any discipline.

If Francis Ngannou and Khabib had started boxing at 8 they wouldn't be world champions, why? They are not elite athletes and wouldn't have the talent to make it in boxing.

TLDR MMA is better on a street fight, but Boxing is harder to succeed at.

Yeah, like Tyson Fury. I’ve been a huge fan since he beat Wilder.

People may laugh but he is an absoloute freak of nature.

A man of that size should not be able to do what he does.

6'9" 280lbs, fat tyre round waist can move like that, has that speed, unlimited stamina, ring IQ, the chin to get up off atomic bombs from Wilder.

It shouldn't be possible, the only reason it is, is because fury is a freak of nature who defies the laws of physics.

A boxer will still lose to an mma fighter of the same skill level and similar weight 9 out of 10 times.

They're always at a disadvantage with 0 takedown defense and zero ground game. If they don't land a clean ko punch in the first few seconds, fight is over.

Unless they only punch each other. Then the boxer will shine.

a well trained boxer wins in a street fight

good luck attempting to close distance on a boxer with grappling and not eating an upper cut followed up by multiple headshots

I didn't read the rest of the thread,

But if you mean "street fight" as in a boxer and MMA guy are at a bar and end up getting in a fight, then being a Boxer is a TON better.

Street fights are easily group fights, you don't know how many friends the other guy will have who will jump in and you don't want to end up on the ground grappling. Having an elite boxing skill is far better so you can be elite while staying on your feet. Being an MMA guy, you will be mid at everything including striking.

However, if you mean street fight as in a boxer and a mma guy meet in a UFC match, then yes having the diversified mid skills in everything is far better because you can play a different game if you're not as good with boxing, or striking etc.

I chose to become a fan of boxing over UFC because in boxing you have elite talent, and its because two reasons: 1) that's where the money is for elite talent fighters, and 2) BJJ and Muay Thai training for kids is very expensive and inner city kids (the super athletes) are not going to train MMA but boxing youth camps are cheap.

BUT, fights don't get made in professional boxing, and boxing judges are fukin corrupt. Now that sports betting is big, I can't gamble on my knowledge of boxing because any corrupt judge can change the right outcome if it goes to decision.

Its an incredibly frustrating aspect of boxing, and now I'm thinking of switching to MMA and watching privileged guys have a backyard brawl. At least the hype fights get made and the better fighter gets rewarded with a win, while Dana gets rewarded with the $$$.

They’re not Arab at all. They are the true Caucasians. Central Asians. Mainly mongoloid with a bit of White. But many of them are stocky and powerful as hell but on the stupid side. True mountain men who have never seen the sea.
