need a Misc rating on Spyro

I have never played a Spyro game besides a small bit on one of those demo discs you used to get for PS1

but that's almost 25 years ago lol

absolutely love what they did with Crash N.Sane trilogy

how does Spyro compare to that?

is it worth getting into today with 0 nostalgia or affinity?

general reviews are of course favorable but I value Misc's opinion higher (DED SRS)

Great games, especially for nintendo fans like you that love kiddie games.

Very charming, cool enemies,... Just pure fun.

Did you finish all the crash bandicoot games?

yeah I finished them all

are Crash and Spyro in the same league when it comes to target audience?

what I mean is Mario is highly enjoyable for an adult but fuk I can't be bothered with Kirby which seems like a kiddie version of Mario, is this similar?

No Spyro is definitely more "mature" than Kirby although slightly more kiddie than crash.

What was your favorite crash game? I love them all, especially 2 and 3

they're all amazing but if I have to pick it'd probably be 2

might give Spyro a try then, it's on sale now

will go straight to the backlog though lol

Fantastic game and the remaster is a solid 8/10 IMO, so much nostalgia from when games just wanted to be fun.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

Loved it as a kid

But cant imagine playing it now since the gameplay is archaic and any new games released will probably be chit because its tied to activision right? ... no thanks, i'd rather take a spyro game from a company that knows their chit like Insomniac or something. Let nostalgia be nostalgia.

Crash 2 is amazing indeed, love to replay it after x years. Just a pure classic.

You'll love Spyro (although now that I remember there are some small irritating parts but 95% is good)

Ehhh its nice, but I dunno, I feel like it's still too archaic for me. Nice to know it exists though.

played the remake (finished spyro 1 and 3 and played about half of the 2nd)

you'll like it if you are into exploraring and collecting stuff without having a map. there are aslo some really fun time challenges.

killing ennemies is just a matter of mashing one button so don't buy it as an action game

im playing spongebob right now and i like it better than spyro. same type of game with tons of fan service

Edit: i wouldnt compare it to crash bandicoot. very different games. one is about difficult platforming and the other one is about exploration

solid argument, just ordered it physical though and will arrive tomorrow lol

against better knowledge I'm still retardedly old school when it comes to games

pick up physical if possible, play only one game at a time, no interest in online competition

so yeah...

The original Spyro trilogy has always been among my all-time favorite 3D platformers. I have always wanted a proper Spyro 4 like we got with Crash 4.

Well i mostly like retro games. I will try some newer ones but it's usually fps or racing or an occasional open world game. Like half the games i have on Steam are retro concepts.

1,2 and 3 are GOATED. But the 3rd game in both Crash and Spyro was hella fun.

I've looked at the Spyro Remaster collection a few times and always passed, think it would be too childish and outdated. I hear great things though, but there is just too much to play for me to go down that road. Report back if you do OP.

I've started it a bit after I made this thread but I just couldn't get into it, don't get the praise it gets tbh

so quit after 2-3 hours or so in the first game
