People who claim filming them is illegal in public.
Been watching a lot of prank videos lately and a lot of boomers always complain about not having permission to film them. They also can't tell the difference between a photo and a video. BRB guy is filming and the person says they need to delete the photo. SMH.
Here's the answer:
Is it Illegal to Record Someone Without Their Consent While in Public? The simple answer to this question is: no. When you are in a public setting such as a concert, grocery store, a park, and many others, recordings are permitted.
So basically if there is an expectation of privacy such as a bathroom, private residence, or any property where it explicitly states filming or photos is not allowed, everyone saying this in these videos is full of sht.
I could go into Walmart/Target and walk around filming the place with my phone and I'm not doing anything wrong or illegal. Even the PUBLIC library is allowed as well. Only places where you might not be able to do that would be private businesses/campuses or governmental businesses. But if you're in public, surrounded by people, or in a store that is for public usage - you're gravy.
Summary:
9/10 people claiming filming them is illegal is BS. You walk around everyday all day and you're being recorded probably 90% of the time you're out in public whether you know it or not. What if you're sitting somewhere and someone takes a selfie?? Do they need your permission to take one? No. You could ask them to not have you in the photo but you can't force someone to not take a public photo/selfie.
Edit: Bingo! Boomers angry they were being filmed. Cop says they can film in the store because you have no right to privacy in a public place.
