I don't understand why these bands go to countries where homosexuality is outlawed and then do this stuff?

It's like I went to an Imagine Dragons concert and the singer went on about Ukraine, floating the flag and then went on a monologue about how everyone should go to therapy?

Aren't we there for the music?

Seem to remember this idiot letting some guy on the stage & kissing him several years back. Dude is full of it-like he didn't know what the laws are, if you are such an activist you would search every country you are offered to play in surely? Can get all the gay sex he wants in a Malaysian jail-pity they just deport show-offs like him rather than chuck them inside for a couple of weeks-until the British Embassy sort it out.

Malaysia is a very anti-gay place.

I was there earlier this year, and was out in front of my hotel at like 4:30AM in the main party district of Kuala Lumpur, and this old lady wearing a muslim headscarf came around and handed me a flyer of girls she could have come to my room right now. She was basically pimping these girls out.

In these countries, they want to make sure guys are getting laid so they don't turn to degeneracy.

It's nice, but I didn't really enjoy my time there. Was only there for a weekend after spending months in Thailand and South Africa, which are places with much better culture.

It would be a solid place to live though as as ExPat, because it's cheap and a legit major metropolis. And there are a ton of great destinations within a 3-4 hour $200-300 flight.

malaysia is very underrated srs. it's a muslim country technically but is a lot more diverse and isn't crazy strict compared to other muslim countries. i'd say it's less strict and less islamic-feeling than even ***** for example.

Yeah Malaysia doesn't really feel like that much of a muslim country. Everything is fairly westernized, and everyone speaks English. But it has that Asian "Mall Culture", and it's pretty much devoid of any real culture or character.
