Why are work managers so ****? Almost dunked on one today
I work in business banking, and we have a teams chat where managers answer queries from staff.
It was my day off today, and I loaded up my work laptop for some reason. I had a look at the referral chat, which are manned by a few managers.
I saw one of my colleagues struggling to help a customer with their online visa payment. The manager gave a generic "it's the retailers problem". I felt like correcting him in the chat, but I private messaged that staff with the query and helped them.
This staff wasnt even trained on visa payments, I sorted out the customers card on my visa system, and the customer was able to make the payment. I shouldn't have done it because for starters I'm not on the clock, and secondly I shouldn't be fixing some random persons card because I'm responsible for my customers, not someone else's. If they made a mistake, I get in trouble.
I've only been working here for under 3 months and I'm already mogging managers that have been there for 10 years plus. Explain this ****

And that wasn't even the only query the manager couldn't answer. I messaged another guy today with a solution to their problem.
Feel like I should be a manager. Out of all the managers at my work, I'd say only 1 took pride in his work. He actually wanted to know if his advise helps. Other managers give advise and tell you to **** off

Ranking up in corporate has more to do with politics and playing right than being competent.

Expand on what I could do to move up in corporate though. I've become pretty competent in a few months, and Im trying to put myself forward for training newcomers. Think that's a good start.
