does anyone even watch the current wwe its just terrible

i enjoyed the wwe stuff up to around 2004 & i tried too give current wwe a chance but i cant stand to watch it been that way for 15 years i bet i try to watch it and i just cant . there whole promotion sucks and that stupid wwe universe logo how much gayer could that be its just so cringy and lame . theres no blood , chair shots no attitude no good looking woman just a bunch of lame stuff all around . even tna impact has gone into the dog house having a man dressed like a woman wrestling the woman on there show like its normal & like who would buy a ticket to see that . both promotions should of went out of business long ago

Not really, I haven't watched it regularly since 2003.

I catch a few ppv's a year, a few raws and smack downs maybe total of 10 a year, and any matches I hear are good. I also follow specific wrestlers like Asuka and just keep up with how she's doing, or AJ a few years back when he had the belt.

Mostly I listen to podcasts now about the good ol' days and am a purely casual watcher of the current product.

Like you say it's just too homogonized, I maintain that the failed Invasion angle was really the beginning of the end of the age of great wrestling. The attitude era and the Monday night wars were the zenith of pro wrestling, it was must watch TV every week and wrestling crossed over into mainstream culture with stone cold or NWO shirts everywhere you looked.

Wrestling makes more money than ever but it is not in popular culture any more. It is not "cool" anymore.

The spontaneity and craziness has completley gone, we had a decade of Cena wins lol followed by going on a decade of reigns wins lol.

It's boring, tired, stale. AEW has totally failed to be a genuine competetor to the WWE, I really, really wanted them to blow up, and when they bought in punk and Bryan I thought they may have something, but instead they are repeating the same well documented mistakes that killed wcw, by playing right into the hands of wwe.

I could go on all day but yeah, to answer your question no, I do not.

i think mainstream viewers moved on from wanting blood and chairshots. AEW is proving that by providing plenty and not growing at a fast enough rate IMO. it's not like they have moxley cutting himself on live TV and the ratings suddenly spike to monday night football levels.

if there was demand for the stuff you guys are sad about going away, they'd be doing it. AEW actually just mandated to cut back on that kind of TV which was a smart long-term move by them IMO.

i think what really happened is we all grew up over the last 20 years so what thrilled you at age, i dunno, 13 doesn't thrill you anymore.

Nobody is talking about the stupidity that goes on with moxley in AEW. If you hit someone hard in the head with a weapon, they should get colour, it's that simple. It doesn't mean every match needs to be a cheese grater baseball bat match in a barbed wire pit. Do you get the difference?

Wrestling isn't hot now, it hasn't been hot in 20 years, why? Because the WWE has played it SAFE for the last 20 years because they are the only game in town.

Hulk Hogan was a crossover star, The Rock was a Crossover star, Austin was a crossover star.

Cena is now, because if acting but he wasn't when he was an active wrestler. Reigns never will be because he's a terrible actor.

AEW could have been something but internal politics, ****ty booking and egos have ruined it.

WWE has had insane talent through it in recent years but nobody can ever get over because of reigns or before that Cena.

It's too clean, too corporate, not scrappy enough. Current WWE is great for little kids, feminists and marks who think the bloodline is "epic".

We'll never see a crossover star again because WWE doesn't want any one wrestler becoming bigger than the WWE like Hogan, Rock and Austin. They can't handle losing all control. A big reason why they'll Fuk up any hype a wrestler created on their own that wasn't their idea like LA Knight.

Yep. This is their bread and butter right here. Parents who watched now bring their kids or kids who watch have to be brought by their parents (extra tickets, merch, etc..) This is the spawning point of new fans.

The only time I see anything is if a clip pops up on my YouTube feed

If it looks mildly interesting I'll click

Always ends up being some watered down cringe by some twink wrestlers that I could more than likely beat the chit out of myself

I record it on youtube tv and fast forward through 90% of it. All the characters fit into basically 5 archetypes and the lines fit the same 5 archetypes. It's just a constant repetition of the same things over and over. There's nothing new and nothing feels genuine/authentic.
