I'd rather be good-looking and be able to get smoking hot chicks than be highly intelligent. Looks takes a person further in life than intelligence.

But fr OP, it's nerves. When I was younger I cared far too much about what people thought of me and had crippling social anxiety. That included being under pressure of interview. You just have to pretend you're better than everyone else there and (genuinely) act like it's of no consequence whether or not you get the job. Make them understand- you're the right candidate, and by choosing anyone but you, they've made a mistake.

Just a guess but I think you could be a legitimate genius but if you are pushing out fart cobras at interviews you are probably unlikely to finish toward the top of the candidate list again just a guess and I hope this helps

Say to the interviewer instead of trying to judge me based on my answers to questions that have been asked numerous times by people such as yourself take a good look at my resume and see if other successful people in your organization have resumes similar to mine. Put the pressure on the interviewer.

people look at interviews like its some sort of interrogation.

Instead look at it like you are going to meet someone with like interests and you get to talk about those interests. plus you can talk about yourself and they will actually listen.

In most peoples day to day dealings they rarely get this sort of chance to do this so embrace it.

No one ever got hired or passed over because they couldnt explain why the company should hire them or the other stupid questions interviewers ask

Another tip is to write down a list of questions that you have. This way when they are talking about the company you already have some questions that you can ask them. I take a manilla folder with my resume and whatever other paperwork they might need along with my questions. Dot be afraid to break open that folder in front of them either. this gives them a chance to see how prepared you are plus shows you cared enough to do some research about the company.

Sounds old fashioned but what would you rather see, some guy bust out his phone and start flipping through whatever or some guy with an actual folder where you can see what they have in it? It just ads to the production value basically.

I'm high iq and do great at interviews b/c I'm smart enough to research and rehearse....Always know some facts about the company, their past, their future, their competitors, anything in the news and what strengths you can bring to make them better.

I had issues with interviewing that was likely caused by childhood trauma. If the interviewer starts to remind me of my dad, I basically freak out and start to question everything I know and bomb the interview. When interviewing for a new job, I usually schedule interviews for jobs I have no intention of intention of accepting just as practice and then hope I am able to vibe with the people interviewing me on one of the jobs I am gunning for.
