I mean it’s a really bad take.

They are going bankrupt because it’s a chit company that was defrauding the dept of defense in order to be profitable. They lost 100million the year after getting busted and sued. They were heading to bankruptcy anyways. The man losing his pension has everything to do with working for a chit company and nothing to do with bad govt policy (they are both true, just not really the issue with this case)

The real tradgedy is americans are too fuking stupid to make backup plans. Pensions are not reliable, and you should always have at LEAST 3 buckets of investments to pull from. Dude should have had a roth, a taxable brokerage, and the pension. Companies are savages and could give a fuk if you and your family starve on the streets, despite your years of loyal service.

What kind of a fool would depend on a pension in today's world?


Pensions are routinely raided by wall street.


I honestly would rope if I had to work alongside tradies for 30 years - the poor manners, the constant drunkeness, the constant arguments and fighting.... thank God I went to school and "work" and office job (which basically means I get paid to do nothing).

Sounds like this company is basically dead, and has been for some time. A Zombie company that has survived on cheap debt for the last 10 years.

It sucks though, pensions should be completely separate from these companies and should be funded and not able to be touched by the company.
