I became a father [SRS]

And from the first time I heard my little one cry out I knew it was the right choice.

So many adventures with my wife around the world, culminating in this moment.

It is such a high, one I guess every parent here understands.

I'm curious how some people get that "high feeling" and others don't feel anything or have negative feelings and bail (like certain demographics). Nonetheless, congrats!

I was ambivalent about having a kid until she was born and I saw her face, at which point it hit me. You can't explain it properly to somebody who hasn't experienced it.

Wait until their face lights up and they shout "dadda" when you come home; it will wreck you.

My wife showed me this video the other day of a "baby drop off station" where burned out mothers can drop off their babies anonymously who then get picked up by emergency services.

I personally cannot fathom how someone could do that, but their personal circumstance must be a living hell.
