Apple needs to release a battery management neural network or something to make them last longer before new battery tech comes. Or make them 10-20% bigger for a bigger battery. Doubt many mind with how light they are.

They have these "benchmark tests" that you can find that compare new technology to old tech to determine if the changes are worth the upgrade.
Also, the phone websites will compare models to also help you decide.

you'll always have to update your phone regardless because of software updates and the more consumers purchase new phones to keep up with the latest software the faster the cycle becomes

I regret negging OP.

I bought a new phone last year and most people were saying that gen were the same prices as previous gen with less features or hardware compromises.

Edit: Actually he negged me back. Nevermind.

lol water under the bridge, i forgive you hope you give me and i didnt really mean the comment i left in your neg
i wish you peace and zen srs

the only reason people update phones are:
better camera
better specs (to keep up with software updates)
better battery

a phones camera will never be better than an actually pro camera
and with the new laws implemented by the EU, which requires phones to have removable battery
the only reason to get a new phone in the future is to keep up with software updates

yeah this thread has nothing to do with getting girls because of a new iphone
and there's NBA players that still use blackberry up until recently (derrick rose, jamal crawford)
if a girl is shallow enough to not date you because of your phone then that's just a litmus test

The frequency of the update (new phone) is what i thought we were discussing not software updates which are normal and frequent for security reasons,

yeah exactly, and even when they do buy new phones they complain about the battery life a few months down the road or a year later complain how slow their phone has become

well the reason for having to update to a new phone is because of the software updates that gets pushed is my point
tech geeks use "security reasons" for their updates but consumer's "private data" gets hacked all the time
and apple has been caught pushing updates to deliberately slow down phones which they had to pay a $900 million dollar penalty for
and they are facing another lawsuit for the same reason

Those battery phone cases seem ok. (2-3 times battery life for around doubling the weight)

I'm considering a bigger phone or just a battery case. I don't know how much work I want to do on my phone when I can detach a little and only work on other devices.

Meh, not really. I just like phones and have always had an interest in cutting edge mobile tech. I usually buy a phone every year. I'm not poor, so it's no big deal. Have a Pixel 7 now b/c all the top, top tier phones are fuking huge. Will probably buy a Pixel 8 in the fall. Would give a Nothing phone 2 a try if it was CDMA.
