NYC Mayor Spends 400 Million To Bus Illegals Out Of City

Big Apple Boondoggle: Mayor Eric Adams Awards Millions to Medical Company to Bus Border Crossers Out of NYC

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2...-migrants-nyc/

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) has reportedly thrown hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars at a medical company, tasked previously with testing for COVID-19, to bus border crossers and illegal aliens out of the sanctuary city.

A report from the New York Times details how a medical company called DocGo was awarded more than $400 million in local taxpayer dollars by Adams’ office to bus border crossers and illegal aliens out of New York City to other towns in the state.

To afford the migrant hotels, Adams has suggested cutting back on services for New Yorkers.

NYC population is about 9 million and they cant handle 90K illegals over the course of a year(slow week in parts of TX)

I hope they're careful about busing them in upstate NY. A lot of upstate is more racist than people of Alabama in a Hollywood movie.

My sister's in-laws have a property on Martha's Vineyard. Last year I made a joke to her shortly after that whole incident. Her: "they really do have a housing shortage there." For a few minutes I talked about how just a few of the 1000 properties for rent on AirBnb could be used to house the illegals sent there, but she couldn't grasp the concept even after I explained it a few times. She just Bertstared at me like I was speaking Swahili and repeated "well they really do have a housing shortage."

Meh what should I expect, she's been a state employee for 25 years.

But it's a sanctuary city! The democrats were just bragging about how virtuous they are and how wonderful all of this immigration is. Why would they do something like this?

A lot of those small towns and cities in upstate NY could use population though. For decades, those places have been losing people, which has caused those places to lose political and economic clout. The migrants could give those areas a jolt

Sounds like an average conversation with a proud democrat supporter. They just recite the propaganda line they have been programmed to say, and when presented with objective reasoning that proves contrary points, they simply fall back on reciting the same tired propaganda line that had just been proven to be a joke.

Migrants vs Illegal alien

The migrants, from my understanding, are people claiming asylum for fleeing countries with violence or political oppression

Yeah I'm sure they would benefit from a bunch of welfare parasites who commit crime and couldn't provide any use to their home country.

Growing up in the Buffalo area I swear every third person works for the local or state government, or did before collecting a pension and finding their current job. So many make for work jobs. During a few summers in college I had a govt job that took us off site every day. Me and another guy would work at a moderately fast pace and go home for the day at lunch time. We were college students, so meh. There were guys in their 20s and 30s (real adults) who would get done by lunch then go work a second job, while still getting paid until 3pm at their govt job. Lulz.

Nah fuk that chit. Send them back to Florida and Texas srs.

But this is misleading too because all of the upstate metro areas have grown even if their city limits populations have declined. It’s just suburbanization and you’ll find similar trends all over the country.

The Buffalo metro area was 1.35 million in 1970. It's now 1.17 million. They are still down 200k from their glory days

Nah.
Buffalo metro is the second biggest in NY and it has shrunk since 1970.
https://www.macrotrends.net/cities/2...alo/population

Suburbs in upstate have been stagnant or losing population for 40 years. The only ones growing the last several decades are near NYC. The suburbanization you're referring to happened in the 1950s-70s and stopped back then, except near NYC. Otherwise the most you'll find is some very rural towns have grown a little bit in the last 50 years while the suburbs all stagnated.
