My ex that I was with my senior year in college and 2 years post college had a family like this. Very catholic Italians. The parents lived in a flat. We couldn't even be alone in her room with the door open. So we'd all sit on the couch or hang out in the kitchen with everyone all day.

It used to piss me the fuk off. Not even because we couldn't have sex (we'd just fuk in the car after driving somewhere), but because I wanted to just lay down fully and at least cuddle or something.

Now though I completely understand. It also makes sense why she was such a good girl (only had two bfs before me and she turned down every guy and any other athlete because she wanted me).

I'd do the same as a father.

Yea we basically were going to. Both families were at the point of waiting for the engagement and we talked a lot about that.

Problem was she had a plan and expected me to follow. I don't follow any woman. I'm the leader. I'm all for talking about things and even compromising if it makes sense, but she literally said I'm going to do this (go back to school to be a nurse practitioner while still working as well) and we're doing this and blah blah blah. All about her career path. I said I don't agree and don't want to do that. We slowly started to part until the break up.

She eventually found an older more established guy, married him, and apparently just got a divorce from him. She did her same plan from what I can tell and it clearly ended the marriage just as I assumed it would have with us. Great girl overall, extremely attractive and intelligent, but typical career focused modern woman vibe.
