Wondering if people who are selected because of DEI racism feel like they are just a “decoration”. I was watching the “reality” tv show ALONE with a friend because he really likes it for some reason (there have been multiple locals on that show, the one I just saw was a bat**** crazy old hippie chick). I only watched one episode. The episode I saw, they interviewed the Mexican contestant Juan Pablo. He said his motivation was to be the first non-white to win and wanted to prove that he was capable and didn’t just get selected to be a decoration. Clearly he felt that way, and it was interesting how he put it. It got me thinking I wonder if a lot of DEI people feel this way. I work for a relatively large utility and a couple years ago there was this big stink about DEI training. It turned into a very controversial topic and one of the black brahs (electrical engineer) said he was against it because he felt like it would single him out amongst his peers.
