ITT: Post one of your goals and what you're doing to achieve it

I've noticed there's a lot of posters here who, for lack of a better definition, appear to be unmotivated doomers with no concrete life goals nor plans. For those that are actually walking the path to self-actualization, I'd be curious to hear what your own individual goals are and what steps you are taking to achieve said goals. It can really be anything - work goals, personal goals, fitness goals, artistic goals, etc. That's what I like about people in an individual capacity - we all have things that make us unique from one another and I think our accrued goals and passions are part of that. For myself, I've had a number of musical goals I've been working on diligently for years that are finally coming to fruition so that's been incredibly fulfilling and exciting.

Hope everyone has a pleasant end to their week and that you're always moving forward in life. Much like a shark, if you stop swimming, you die. It's never too late to make meaningful changes to your life.

I turn 50 in 465 days, I started a countdown at 500. I'm looking at it as the second half of my life starting. Though I'm sure I won't make it to 100, my mom and dad are 77, and my grandma is 98, so I will likely be around for a good number of years.

I don't really have goals or direction in my life currently. I kind of feel like I'm floating in the current that I created in the first half of my life. It's not like that's a bad thing, I have a good job, I own my house in a nice area, I have hobbies, I'm in good shape, my kids get straight A's and are good kids. But even at work, I feel like things are almost on auto-pilot. I know how to do everything I need to do, how to react to crises, how to solve the problems, etc...

So my goal for the next 465 days is to develop the plan for the second half of my life, figure out how to grow or achieve something that will provide motivation and drive in my life.

Great post, thanks for sharing. I like your idea of the countdown and focusing on what the second half of your life can entail. It sounds like you're pretty stable and have worked hard to build a solid foundation for yourself and your family in the first half of your life. I wonder if you could capitalize on this foundation and add on some scaffolding that can really only remain stable if one has such a strong foundation. For myself personally, I know that when I'm a bit older I'd like to go for my personal pilot's license. That will require me to be financially stable and have more free time to dedicate to this endeavour, but it's an exciting prospect.

Best of luck to you and happy early birthday!

I’m in second year uni atm and want to be an external recruiter earning a big salary in the future. At the moment I’m just trying to get an internship, but also building my network on LinkedIn and at uni by going to networking events. Ive been actively going out of my comfort zone, getting comfortable being uncomfortable, which admittedly is tough, but bloody all hell is worth it. No better feeling than proving to yourself that the thing you thought you couldn’t do, you can do and you can kill it.

I also think this way. It's incredibly important and beneficial to step out of your comfort zone. You'll rarely achieve anything meaningful if you stay in your bubble.

Best of luck to you.

Shred down to 7-8% bodyfat and see how sustainable it is.
-currently at 9% and lifting/running 5x/week 18/6 fast with 20/24 hour weekend fast with fasted cardio weekends
-calories between 2200-2600, not really strict here, this will be the final lever to pull and guage sustainability

Get 100k in a brookerage
-will be there next year based on current work load

Increase personal savings rate from 55% to 60%
-low rent, low COL lifestyle, dieting, investment mindset

Just bought a 75 gallon tank Ill be dirting, planting and filling with rainbowfish...buddy has wholesale price hookups for flora/fauna, but still dropping 1k overall in the next month lol sorry S and P 500, maybe next month.

Get a house with 20% down and 10k in reserve for the inevitable home owner expenses
-currently there with my brookerage, but if the market continues with interest rate hikes and 5-10% growth Ill probably throw 30% down or more
-rent and invest the difference works for me as my rent is 1/3 what my mortgage would be...so even though its a meme to some, it works well if you are disciplined and can afford to wait until the markets in your favor to buy (insert skeleton at picnick table .jpeg)

Good luck to all my goal oriented brahs out there, keep hustlin cuzz.

I have a ton of small goals i am constantly working towards and hitting. Obviously smaller goals are easier to hit than big ones.

Thats a good thing though as hitting them all the time builds confidence.

I dont have goals that i am going to make a million dollars and fly around draped in gucci clothes or any of that nonsense. never had those.

What I do have is a goal of increasing my squats by 50 lbs by the end of the year and increasing my heavy bag work rounds to 8 hard 3 minutes rounds instead of half that.

These are attainable but will require work.

I want to take my career international and find a proper community, so I've travelled internationally and in Europe as we speak.

Plus, I really want to eat the ass of a hot euro chick so it's a two birds, one stone thing. And fuark, every chick here is fit AF with an extremely edible ass.
Back off, Warchild.

I see my overarching goals as the other side of the proverbial river and create sub goals that act as stepping stones to attain that larger goal. I did that with squats after I broke my leg and went from being in a cast for months, my leg atrophying to schit, not being able to do wall squats during physio, to hitting 3 plates deep for 9 reps within less than a year. Anything is possible if you really dedicate yourself and are consistent. Best of luck to you and your squat goals. Glutes for the sloots, am I right?

Favorite spot in Europe so far? Mine has to be Rome, although I felt right at home in the Bavarian alps when I spent some time there.

Im sick to fcking death of having chit legs (I'm a lankmore), so I'm making it my mission to be able to do full pistol squats. Before I started I couldn't even stand on one leg for more than five seconds.

Started progressing and including single leg squats, trying to go deeper each time, controlled negatives, etc. Haven't reached full pistol squat yet but am damn close and I can stay balanced on a single foot until I get bored, srs.

Dreams do come true everyone

Moneymaxxing to the point that I can essentially retire and just spend my time making music and potentially travel the world.

The problem is that time is passing by very quickly and the path I've taken has essentially killed off my social life.
